Obama might pursue criminal charges against Bush
Guardian ^ | September 03 2008 | Elana Schor

Posted on 09/03/2008 6:17:38 PM PDT by Lorianne

Democratic vice-presidential nominee Joe Biden said yesterday that he and running mate Barack Obama could pursue criminal charges against the Bush administration if they are elected in November.

Biden's comments, first reported by ABC news, attracted little notice on a day dominated by the drama surrounding his Republican counterpart, Alaska governor Sarah Palin.

But his statements represent the Democrats' strongest vow so far this year to investigate alleged misdeeds committed during the Bush years.

"If there has been a basis upon which you can pursue someone for a criminal violation, they will be pursued," Biden said during a campaign event in Deerfield Beach, Florida, according to ABC.

"[N]ot out of vengeance, not out of retribution," he added, "out of the need to preserve the notion that no one, no attorney general, no president -- no one is above the law."

Well, they will have to come here to Texas to affect this arrest warrant, I and I know many of President Bush’s neighbors who just might have something to say about that.

You know that Bush could of brought all kinds of charges up against Bill but he did not. I would love to see what you suggested. It would blow the libs little minds.

I remember how Bush prided himself on reaching over the isle to the demoncrats - look at how they spit on him and talk about him as the devil. There is a lesson here and I hope the McCain etal see that the liberals must be dealt with like an evil dictator - they only understand strength -show them weakness and they will attack you like a cackling gang of hyenas.

Bush thought that DC Dems would be like Texas Dems. He never did learn that there is a huge difference.

When Bush took office, there were still several open investigations into Clinton’s criminal acts. Bush ordered them to be closed, because he wanted to get beyond the bitter partisanship and move forward.

Does anyone believe the Dems will do the same if they get into the White House? I’ve been asking this question for years.

I knew this would happen. These Traitors will try to destroy our Great President Bush just like they tried to destroy President Nixon.

Before he leaves office, President Bush Must pardon himself and all members of his administration. That is the only way to stop these madmen from again criminalizing politics. They are the Criminals, Democrats are Criminals and Traitors, Not Republicans.

Obama and Biden are certified liberal nutzies.

All the more reason to make sure they don’t get elected.

I happened to be watching that on C-Span when he said it. He was responding to a question which was whether an Obama administration would pursue criminal charges against the Bush administration. His answer was “Yes.” Period, full stop. Then he went on to explain how it would be done, along with Waxman and Leahy who are already, as he explained, gathering evidence and preparing the ground.

I thought it was pretty striking when I watched it - first press mention I have seen of it.

In Mr. Bush's shoes I would take it as a threat to railroad him into jail. And all Republicans along with him.

In what I hope is the unlikely event that Obama/Biden win election, I would recommend that Bush shred all dossiers (the infamous FBI files) held by the government for personnel purposes. And I would recommend that President Bush issue a blanket pardon to every man jack of his administration, and to himself as well.

Sure, come on down, I got some extra ammo in the truck and another thermos of coffee on the way.

BTW, she hit a home run with her speech.

the President enjoys absolute immunity due to the nature of his unique office

I don’t believe this is true, otherwise there was no need for President Ford to pardon President Nixon, which cost him the election. That’s why I recommend that before he leaves office President Bush should pardon himself and all members of his administration.
