I like the last of his speech, wish he would have stuck to defense, terrorism, and Isreal, but again, he wasn’t preaching to the choir but to the Scoop Jackson type dems

Lieberman totally angered the RATs just by appearing at that podium last night, before he spoke one word. And by being a part of that trial-balloon VP pick sleight-of-hand.
And he knows it. He showed guts.

I usually really like Noonan. Lots of insight in this article. The excerpt is one of my concerns when hearing about all of the help she’s getting in crafting tonight’s speech. I hope it is something that is from HER and for her (even if speechwriters write it). Something that she is comforatable with and has convictions about - and not some talking points that are for the Republicans or McCain.
From what I’ve read of Governor Palin though, she’s nobody’s fool and will do just fine.
No offense taken, my FRiend (at least by me!).
To my knowledge McCain has always voted pro-life on abortion legislation (though he has spoken out in support of embryonic stem cell research, which IMO is a form of abortion), and no one can doubt his seriousness about fighting the war against Islamofascism. But on too many other issues, his position is liberal rather than conservative, so I don't see him as a conservative, nor do I trust him. However, because he's picked Palin as his running mate, I'll be voting for him.
As for Ingtar, I'm not aware of any lies he's told. From reading his posts, I believe he perceives McCain just as I do.

The point is....they are just names.
I get that for the most part, but I don’t think most people are watching. Most people watched last week and are already looking forward to new tv next week, and could care less about this week - but I could be wrong. Interesting to see what the ratings show.
Lieberman’s speech, IMO, would have been better if it were performed out on the stump, not at a National convention, (I think his target audience would be better reached out on the stump than at the Republican National Convention) but what the hay, I was still annoyed with how they injected McCain into the President Reagan tribute. :o)
