This was posted in the comments section on the Washington Independent by Alaskan and a Wasillan, Anne Kilkenny, someone who has followed Sarah Palin very, very closely - with too many city council meetings under her belt - not to say her piece....
Her experience is as mayor of a city with a population of about 5,000 (at the time), and less than 2 years as governor of a state with about 670,000 residents. During her mayoral administration most of the actual work of running this small city was turned over to an administrator. She had been pushed to hire this administrator by party power-brokers after she had gotten herself into some trouble over precipitous firings which had given rise to a recall campaign. Sarah campaigned in Wasilla as a fiscal conservative. During her 6 years as Mayor, she increased general government expenditures by over 33%.... She inherited a city with zero debt, but left it with indebtedness of over $22 million....While Sarah was Mayor of Wasilla she tried to fire our highly respected City Librarian because the Librarian refused to consider removing from the library some books that Sarah wanted removed. City residents rallied to the defense of the City Librarian and against Palin's attempt at out-and-out censorship, so Palin backed down and withdrew her termination letter....
As Mayor, she had her hand stuck out as far as anyone for pork from Senator Ted Stevens. Lately, she has castigated his pork-barrel politics and publicly humiliated him. She only opposed the bridge to nowhere after it became clear that it would be unwise not to....

Smells like sour grapes to me.
Com’on, what can you expect from “The Atlantic”? One of the snobbiest magazines in the history of America.
The last president its staff liked was Abraham Lincoln. Good choice, that. But for decades, “The Atlantic” has been a haven for lefties from all over the country who spend most of their days staring at their navels.
Whiners and hand wringers - all of’em.
Hmmm... Sarah sounds pretty bad for somebody with an 80% approval rating.
Will someone please vet Anne Kilkenny to see what political candidates she’s donated to?
Sarah Palin scares the c%@p out of the left. They’re now foaming at the mouth in their frenzy to find or manufacture anything that might possibly stick.
I read that Susan Estrich said this morning that 6,000,000 Hillary supporters were in play. So Palin has energized the pubbie base and bought a good portion of the dem base into play. Their desperation is understandable.
That is absolutely my favorite line of the play/movie.
I should have known you would know that line! LOL!
Regards,
TS
This is so perfect since Craig Ferguson has already dubbed Gov. Palin a "Naughty Librarian" (in a good way)!
“Consider the source” apparently doesn’t extend to this discussion, as long as it fits someone’s agenda.
Anne Kilkenny went to UC Berkeley! Enough said.
Huckabee is no Palin!
Yes, that's it. Maggie Thatcher, daughter of a greengrocer they used to call her. Protector of Western Civilization. America's own Maggie Thatcher. I love it.
“It’s a smutty book!”
The attacks make me want to throw up.
It’s actually more from the Washington Independent, which appears ANYTHING BUT (it appears to be left-wing as it gets,) and Sullivan is just quoting it because he’s fully in Obama’s pocket now.
He has put the gay issue ahead of everything else he EVER claimed to believe in when he was one of the most famous conservative commentators (and was usually more coherent.)
I asked her (directly) if she was a RINO... She said NO.... LoL..
She’s got an 80% job approval rating.... did they forget to interview those folks???
