Asked what she was like, he replied, ‘’She was pretty volatile,’’ and then slapped his knee and laughed, ‘’Har, har, har!’’

I’m sure Gov. Palin looks good in a bikini with her own body too. But no one has found that picture yet. ; )

But I agree with Rove that the two speeches, excellent as they both were, should've been delivered in reverse order -- Lieberman first, and the red meat speech by Thompson to end the night on a high note.

I agree... I was nodding in agreement when I heard Rove say that earlier. Oh well...

Palin/Thompson ... 2012
Fred will be 2000 years old by then! L0L

Well then his age wouldn't be a real issue would it, because he'd be the Veep, and the President would be plenty young. ;o)

Here is the money quote just in case those weasels take it down altogether:

Ron Allen (MSNBC): To be fair, her resume is not something that we're familiar seeing with a presidential candidate.

Newt Gingrich: It's stronger than, stronger than Barack Obama's! I don't know why you guys walk around saying this baloney.

She has a stronger resume than Obama. She's been a real mayor, he hasn't. She's been a real Governor, he hasn't. She's been in charge of the Alaska National Guard, he hasn't. She was a whistleblower who defeated an incumbent mayor, he's never once shown that kind of courage. She's a whistleblower who turned in the chairman of her own party and got him fined $12,000. I've never seen Obama do one thing like that. She took on the incumbent Governor of her own party and beat him, and then she beat a former Democratic Governor in the general election. I don't know of a single thing Obama has done except talk and write. And, and I'd like you to tell me one thing you think Senator Obama has done.

Ron Allen (MSNBC): Thanks very much, Mr. Speaker, we're gonna leave it there, I'm not gonna argue the case. Thanks very much. Keith, back to you.

It is a long article but a good one. It makes clear that Obama lined his and many other pockets while letting the housing for Chicago blacks deteriorate to unlivability. His brother in Kenya lives better in his 6X9 shack.

the word “stemwinder” describes a rousing speech.

The term dates back to the middle of the 19th century, when the stem-winding watch came into vogue. The newfangled timepiece was a vast improvement over its predecessor, the key-wound watch, because the mechanism for setting it was a stem actually attached to the watch, rather than a key that was easily and frequently misplaced. This technological advance was so widely appreciated that, by the end of the 1800s, the term stemwinder had taken on the figurative meaning of “excellent” or “outstanding,” or, as the Oxford English Dictionary puts it, “a person or thing that is first rate.
