Not at the time of the conception and not at the time Joseph was wondering if he should put her away quietly. They were betrothed.

A woman does not become a mother until she gives birth. At the time of Jesus' birth, Joseph and Mary were married.

While it's true that the story of her virgin impregnation (Immaculate Conception) is a core belief of the Christian faith, and is one of the means by which Christians assert the divinity of Jesus (Luke 1:24-37), the biblical author made sure to point out that Mary was married when Jesus was born.

This story really hits home with me. My son had the exact same situation 7 years ago. I spent countless hours agonizing over this. My wife, my son and I convinced the young lady to have the baby and she was born in December. Even though she was not ready to marry my son, she is so happy and is a great mother. My son is a great father and has since married a young lady with three children. The kids love their new step sister.

Yesterday I took my granddaughter to her first Detroit Tiger baseball game.

I am so proud of Bristol for doing the right thing. After seeing this family, I’m sure this child will find a lot of love.

I was just talking to my Mom about all of this and what her thoughts were; she reminded me of two very important things, a) she didn’t really want me to join the Navy and b) she really didn’t want me to get married at 19...I did both.

Now I have two beautiful sons that are both my pride and joy.

And, my Mom also reminded me of the fact that my 18 year old wanted to join the Coast Guard...and I had preferred he go to college. He has been on Active Duty for over a year now...

I realized at that very moment just how powerless parents are when their kids choose to do something other than what we want for them or what we think is better for them.

As a parent you have two choices; resent your children’s decisions, or love them.

Sarah and Todd Palin have chosen to love their daughter...God Bless them and God Bless their daughter.

Nope.

Deuteronomy 22:23-24

"If a man is discovered having relations with a woman who is married to another, both the man and the woman with whom he has had relations shall die. Thus shall you purge the evil from your midst. "If within the city a man comes upon a maiden who is betrothed, and has relations with her, you shall bring them both out to the gate of the city and there stone them to death: the girl because she did not cry out for help though she was in the city, and the man because he violated his neighbor's wife.

About as clear as it gets.

Thanks.

I like his line “The media are already trying to spin this ...”

I guess when he speaks people listen...It sounds like he is supporting McCain/Palin, but i haven't read his endorsement of them anywhere?

Fortunately a great many true conservative voters are Christians. Few people understand what that means.

Our God is the God of second chances. Most of us are in His Grace because of His loving policy of second chances. And as Christians, we are to emulate Him. Amen!

I pray that Bristol Palin can find her way to a microphone and say,

“I’d just like to tell Mr. Obama, that I’m NOT being punished with a baby.”

Nice thought, but I would much rather not have the candidate's family become a political football; regardless of who chooses. Hopefully the girl can find the strength to live her life and avoid revenge.

Babies are the true innocents and should never be judged or labeled for the actions of their parents.

Absolutely.

Mark 10:13-16: And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them. But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.

A woman is most certainly a mother prior to the birth. See the underlined.

Luke 1: 41 When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42 In a loud voice she exclaimed: "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear! 43 But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. 45 Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished!" 46 And Mary said: "My soul glorifies the Lord 47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,

Mary, unwed mother of Jesus, did not abort the baby.

Uh...Mary was married to Joseph, the carpenter.

Thanks for the ping. It’s good to see socons like Dobson jumping into the fray, and what he says is quite simple, real, loving and upholding of God. It drives the liberals nuts.

p.s. I’ll send you some freepmail.

That would be priceless, but then she would be inserting herself into the campaign and that is not what we want; especially when we said the children should not be an issue and even the Obamessiah doesn't want to go there (after seeing the writing on the wall, of course).

Still priceless though!!!
