ST. PAUL -- The 17-year-old daughter of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is pregnant, Palin said on Monday in an announcement intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her child.

But don’t expect everyone to think she walks on water here just because you do.

Hmmmm...lots of walking on water slurs...new talking points, huh?

Boring.

“And IF that is true, let me tell you some of the things I’d judge you very harshly for:

1. Furnishing your with kids soda pop and juice and too many sweets instead of water or milk and healthy foods. I see way too many fat kids who are fat because their parents are stupid. I judge a parent harshly who has raised their children to drink soda regularly; it should be a treat.

2. Not teaching your kids to read before they get to kindergarten. If you didn’t do that, you’re a crappy parent, in my view.

3. Having a television with cable and letting your kids watch TV more than an hour or two a day. I absolutely think that parents who give their kids unlimited access to TV or the internet, for that matter, are behaving very irresponsibly; I think the best moral character would be the family that READS BOOKS.”

You are a nutjob. How do you know I don’t do these. And judge me if you want. It is the libs that say we should not use judgement, that everything is OK.

I don’t think I’m perfect but I am not an going to expose a pregnant teen to the public specter.

I don’t know what your problem is. If you were just upset about the latest revelations then I am sure that you could have expressed it in a few posts. Instead, you seem to have a dogged determination to tear down and destroy one of the finest candidates in years. If you are actually being honest about your feelings then I think you have expressed them and should now get out of the way and let us work on defending our candidate. If one the other hand you are a troll then please jump back to Kos or DU and do your dirtywork their. Thanks.

There is no bigger driver of wedges into the Conservative base than McCain. He revels in it. I lament it. People attacking me as no Conservative because when the choice was McCain vs Romney I choose Romney. Now to disagree is one think but some of the a$$hats around here got personal without any discourse.

That's all well and good but has nothing to do with the anti-Palin wedge that the media is trying to create (just now I see the headline that she was for the Bridge before she was against it). There are just two relevant facts, (1) no pick is perfect, (2) Palin is a very conservative pick. Her appeal as a maverick and a woman are just McCain throwing a hail mary. But with the pick McCain also makes up for some of what he has done against conservatives.

“I don’t know what your problem is.”

I’ll tell you what my problem is...people like you that post nonsense to me then wonder why I post back.

I am doggedly determined to wake people up to McCain. Doggedly.

I am about defending Conservative principals. Low taxes. Pro-business. Freedom of expression. The rule of law. Personal responsibility for ones own decisions. Family values.

How does McCain stand up?

I am not the first person to have serious reservations about McCain.

Our fearless leader had quite a bit to say about McCain — look it up.

What consensus will they come to on ANWR, for example, where they are 180 degrees apart? If she comes to his side on everything, that won't bode well for '12.

One election at a time. She seems to be as independent in her thoughts as any of the other candidates, perhaps more than average. I think a solid conservative will be a good influence in general even if she caves on ANWR. I am much more concerned with getting a good Supreme Court judge and protecting life and the Constitution. I think her values are strong enough to do this unlike many of the RINOs who are squishy on things that should be fundamental.

Sunny, I feel ya on this election season’s dismal prospect. I am Not Happy with McCain, but... I mean look at Obama.

What is the alternative? I’m open to ideas here.

Those pictures were not of Bristol. They were of Bristols boyfriends sister. And to be honest the pictures were pretty tame compared to what many teans put on their facebook sites.

>>I am not the first person to have serious reservations about McCain.>>

Hussein and McCain are two liberals running this year.

I don’t like McCain but he is the one blessed by the Republicans. I am voting for Ron paul to keep my conscience lean. I am a Christian and Christ was not a pragmatist, he did the right thing and instructed me to do the same. So I will. He is in control of whomever gets in there, anyway, whether they like that truth or not.

I agree McCain is just as bad as Hillary, and maybe just a slight improvement over Obama.

Palin on the other hand......

I like when He advocated giving Ceaser what Ceaser decides is his. Way not to be pragmatic there, God.

Then do it openly. The woman is evidence of McCain attempting to placate conservatives. Other matters like her personal life do not alter that fact. If you think McCain is worth defeating (and Obama winning) then make your arguments about McCain, not a small personal detail about his running mate. You will get my dogged opposition for helping to elect Obama, but at least attack him front and center and we will argue hopefully have stronger arguments as a result.

“What is the alternative? I’m open to ideas here.”

I sure don’t have any good ones. The best I can think of is local politics. It has a huge impact on the actual life we lead and there are serious issues in my town that are up for vote.

Pretty much all the good guys won the primaries last week - incumbent Republicans fell like flies. They have nominal Dim opponents, but I am concerned that the “toss out the incumbent” attitude could get carried a bit to far. The Dims that are running are mostly Sierra Club types.

All white people don't look alike, contrary to the stereotype.

Seriously, though, they're both white girls and that's about the end of the similarity. The photos aren't fuzzy. I have seen them posted everywhere as Bristol. It has driven me crazy that no one else has this apparent gift I have to see that Bristol and Mercedes (Levi's sister) are two different people. Stop the insanity, internet!

Wow.

Load up the hypocrisy wagon, why don't we?

People, people, am I really reading your replies? “Oh, this doesn't change anything, Oh it could happen to anybody, Oh parents can't always control their kids” etc. Really, you all? If this were an opposing candidate's kid, who had done something opposite of what the candidate stood for, we'd be all over this. If it was some story about a random girl getting pregnant before marriage and underage, at least half the posts would be about “can't you raise your kid, where were the parents, [insert scripture]”. But of course we sing different songs because Palin is on the conservative side?

Double-standard much...

I’m looking for it. Can you help? It was JR posting about John McCain’s attack on free speech. I saw it yesterday but I cannot find it - don’t know how to search for it.
