ST. PAUL -- The 17-year-old daughter of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is pregnant, Palin said on Monday in an announcement intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her child.

Hey ace, I said multiple times BEFORE Palin was picked she was not a good choice. She is a so so choice for VP, better than several who were mentioned, but not great. The one thing that she has done is apparently energize alot of freepers and other conservatives. That’s great. But don’t expect everyone to think she walks on water here just because you do.

She isn't being fair to her family by exposing them to all this, and, sorry to say, she and McCain aren't being fair to the country.

Anyone McCain picked would be exposed to attacks, with a *few* third party malcontents here joining in. The pick is never going to be perfect, but why don't you tell us your pick and why it would help McCain. Also realize that your hypothetical pick won't go through the media wringer.

It just amazes me at the depths the media and left will go to to seek out and report on the tiniest little flaw in a Republican VP candidate but will ignore the elephant in the room when it comes to Obama.

The media ignores Clinton’s lust, Biden’s plagiarism, and Obama’s anarchist friends, but a young girl not running for anything is fair game.

I despise them.

I’m just waiting for National Enquirer or a myspace column from the boyfriend just shredding the morals of the Palin family, after NE pays off the boy (6 figures) to come up with something salacious....They will probably find/pay off three or more young boys to come out and corroborate her current boyfriend’s made up stories. This is going to be a long 2 months....

He knew and didn’t see a problem with Sarahs ability to do her duties as VP. Smart man.

Don’t believe for a second that a life is a mistake...it is a consequence of an action.

My grandaughter who is also 17 and pregnant says the same thing. If people tell her its just a mistake, she says my baby is not a mistake. Please don't call it that.

I’m sure the libs will have nothing to say. After all, isn’t sex a personal matter (a/la Kong Clinton)?

Surely you jest. LOL

In my hometown, along side the highway there are 3000 white crosses and a big sign that says “this is how many babies are murdered every day through abortion. That is a lot of babies to die every day.

Sarah Palin is a good honest person. She would NOT have hidden that from McCain. If she had tried to hide it, I think McCain would have dropped her from the ticket.

“So it sounds like you’re against McCain regardless of Palin’s daughter being pregnant.”

Then you need a hearing aid.

I don’t believe that for a minute. If Obamas daughter got pregnant and chose to keep her baby, she would have 100% support here. Just look at the threads where a liberal dies or gets sick. For the most part, nothing but prayers and good wishes are offered. I haven’t been in FR a really long time but I do know the goodness of most of the people here.

Inaccurate information & assumption is not unusual which is why it’s always best to wait. There’s a thread here which hopefully will help stop the spreading of false information.

What was she supposed to have done. While she was introducing them, say “and this is my daughter, Bristol, who is 17 and pregnant by the way”. That would have humiliated that poor girl. Might as well brand a scarlet letter in her forhead.

They are really trying to dig dirt and make a big deal out of a young woman's mistake and then choice. I've been mulling this over this morning and part of the truth is the abstinence teaching didn't work, but I am sure both these kids were exposed by the nanny state to the ideas of other forms of birth control.

And like millions of other teens and young adults ignored those teachings.

So as the libs try to spin this and perhaps use this as why abstinence doesn't work, keep in mind their method didn't work either. For all their efforts to hand out birth control, make it readily available etc. It was again ignored.

Yes there are a lot of people like me that do not think it is OK for teens to have sex. It ends up all too often in pregnancy. Teens that have babies are limiting the choice. The odds are against them - some people do OK but SOME PEOPLE don’t. If parents are not responsible for their minor children who are. I’m appalled that people that claim to be conservatives accept teen pregnancy. Some around here actually revel in it.

I see your name is latina4dubya. Would you be Catholic? Do you know the Popes teaching on this? I knew lots of Catholics growing up and the Church taught this was a sin. True? Now I do think there is such a thing as heavenly forgiveness to the truly contrite. But being pregnant is a serious matter.
