ST. PAUL -- The 17-year-old daughter of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is pregnant, Palin said on Monday in an announcement intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her child.

How noble of you to state something that can’t be proven.
Classless, low-life, self-righteous loser Republicans might, and they'd have my contempt. I tell you true: If Obama or any other out-of-wedlock offspring of a 17-year-old, was a small government conservative Republican, I'd vote for him and come down hard on fellow Republicans who rejected him because of the circumstances of his birth. Don't bring that to my Republican party. Confine it to the parlors of the nattering church ladies, where it should stay.
Where you want to live hasn’t a thing to do with over-population.
Bzzzzzt. Sorry n00b, wrong again.
I took the more hard line approach that seems to be getting flamed here. I'm not to happy a camper on this turn of events.
Credit goes to Ronaldus Magnus who has summed up this whole thread.
Those attacking the Palin's on this thread seem to avoiding any real debate on the issues, instead relying only on repeated attack mantras. I am beginning to think that this is less about Bristol's unfortunate pregnancy and more about a bunch of disaffected Ronpaulians, Romneyites, and Obamanics attempting to hurt the McCain campaign.
If nothing else this thread is a testament to why conservatives should keep their emotions in check. Everybody is entitled to speak their mind. Posting mindless nonsense and attempting to stifle others is another matter.
Thanks again.
I want their vote, I just don't want them as friends or acquaintances
Everybody is an individual, but we are also part of a family and part of family heritage. We inherit not only physical traits such as athleticism, strength, intelligence, skin color, body type, height -- but how we approach the world, how we handle duty, how honest we are.
Obama's relationship to his mother is a key to his personality. What other history has he made for himself?
His book is called "Dreams of My Father" -- by his own pen has he asked us to examine his family.
Thank goodness for that. It would be amazing to think that Palin's daughter's pregnancy was the issue that finally tore it for you.
So, if you if McCain was already a no-go for you what is the big deal about this?
“I would be happier if the child was being put up for adoption to two adults in a stable happy marriage.”
Me too. And if Sarah and Todd spent more time with the girls. I don’t agree that parents are not responsible for their children. People can blast me for that if they want.
You can tell Obama thinks it works for them because they wont touch it. I also reject the moral equivalence of comparing this to BO.
Not objective, but rather a gut feeling... I believe folks will rally behind her and thereby help McCain, especially if the Left hammers this into the ground.
She will be wonderful & I look forward to it!
Thank God my parents didn't feel this way. They came to a foreign country like America and they couldn't even speak the language in 1969. I was 16 months old. They could have thrown me overboard on the boat and gone back home (no doubt there are some FReepers who wish this happened, but you're stuck with me). Now I'm your worse nightmare. America is great! Life is great!
They're happily married except when my dad is yelling at mom for no reason and they are either in 3 states....about to go on vacation, on vacation, or just got back from vacation.
My Mom found a job with the Gubmint and even gets a pension and free health care for doing nothing but driving around in a State car and loafing! Is this a great country or what?!!!!
Well, since we are in America, I guess you are allowed to have your own opinion... ;0)
I have been under the understanding that her husband would be the stay at home dad type when they moved.
I also know women who have DS children and have to work outside the home also. I understand this is a different type of job she is applying for, but I also think the kid will have the best care in the world.
I also think it is high time we had “real” people in those high offices. If we say, well, they have a normal life (sick kids, etc) so the timing is off, then “normal” people will never be in those positions. Sure some of her attention will be divided to a certain point, but she will be able to make up for that because she will “understand” the needs of normal folks a little more....
Presidents have had family issues to cope with since the beginning of the nation...and have many did a great job juggling both....some did not. That’s life and my opinion.
well said
I suspect the feeling would be mutual.
