ST. PAUL -- The 17-year-old daughter of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is pregnant, Palin said on Monday in an announcement intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her child.

I’ll support Palin, but I wish Romney was picked... For a million reasons
You are dead wrong.
You're not much of a Reagan Man today.
I disagree. People of various ages all over the country make mistakes and bad judgments. Politicians and public figures are no exception. What matters is what you do after the deed is done. I think the Palins are a good example of how to handle an undesirable situation and turn something bad into something good. Before this was revealed I felt alot of folks could identify with the Palins on several fronts. That’s perhaps even more true now.
Does that surprise you ?
It is not that the offspring of righteous parents do not trip themselves up at the obstacles and sins of life. It is whether they pick themselves up and stay in the race.
That often happens in life and it is the test of the family as to how they handle it.
That’s what makes them perfect. The little imperfections that makes them one of us.
I doubt it will influence conservative voters.
There are only a few posters here of whom you should be ashamed. The problem is: They keep repeating themselves.
I ask you once nicely and I am doing it again please remind me of your years of service before posting or mis-characterizing my position. OK. LOL
Your boy McCain just elected Obama.
Because if the parents are singularly unprepared to foster a new life, as you must agree the VAST majority of 17-year-olds are, what future does that baby have?
Dr. Dobson gets it:
Dr. James C. Dobson of Focus on the Family issued the following statement:
“In the 32-year history of Focus on the Family, we have offered prayer, counseling and resource assistance to tens of thousands of parents and children in the same situation the Palins are now facing. We have always encouraged the parents to love and support their children and always advised the girls to see their pregnancies through, even though there will of course be challenges along the way. That is what the Palins are doing, and they should be commended once again for not just talking about their pro-life and pro-family values, but living them out even in the midst of trying circumstances.
“Being a Christian does not mean you’re perfect. Nor does it mean your children are perfect. But it does mean there is forgiveness and restoration when we confess our imperfections to the Lord. I’ve been the beneficiary of that forgiveness and restoration in my own life countless times, as I’m sure the Palins have.
“The media are already trying to spin this as evidence Gov. Palin is a ‘hypocrite,’ but all it really means is that she and her family are human. They are in my prayers and those of millions of Americans.”
BULL! Most conservatives I know don't accept unwed teen pregnancies as routine or matter of fact. The political environment we exist in today isn't conducive to such bad behavior. Those of you who condone such behavior are way out of line. Get your morals out of the toilet.
Here is the problem as I see it. I don’t blame the parents. Likely they instilled the proper values. There is tv, the internet, etc these days.
My problem really is on the timing of Palin being selected. She has a 5 month old special needs son. She has a 5 month pregnant teen aged daughter. She has no foreign policy experience, less than 20 months as a governor. Her plate is kind of full.
I absolutely cherish the fact that Governor Palin kept her baby. I support the way she is supporting her daughter. I question her judgement and McCain’s judgement that this right now is the right time in her political and personal life to be running a vice presidential campaign.
Her daughter will be due around January, right when Gov Palin would be taking office. God forbid anything happens to McCain at the start of his term health wise. I believe in a woman’s right to work. But being pro family means that your family comes first. I truly believe Gov Palin needs to step aside. Let her son be raised out of infancy. Her daughter married, stable with a new baby, then think about national office in 4 to 8 years.
If Romney had been picked, Obama would have won the election. You should be grateful to Palin for putting herself and her family out there to keep this country out of Obama’s clutches. Unless the small-minded of us ruin this for the rest of us, Palin has sewn this election up for McCain.
But it’s been happening as long as I’ve been alive.
Like almost all people running for public office, things in their lives aren’t perfect. Instead, they’re all human. What determines their character is how they choose to deal with their human situations.
Politically, the net gain/loss of support for the ticket is no loss, no gain.
lol
Ok Romneyphant.
Is that true?
I do see that they married on March 4, 1952 and Patti was born Oct 21, 1952.
The Cleveland example does nothing to excuse this situation. Nice attempt, though.
I’d be struck by lightning before I got halfway! LOL
Dr. Dobson obviously doesn’t understand that being a Republican is a far higher calling than being a Christian. /s
