So. This is what being pandered to feels like.
John McCain picked Sarah Palin, governor of Alaska and mother of five, to be his running mate to woo women like me.
He seems to think that my girlfriends and I are so disappointed that an utterly qualified woman is not going to be president that we will jump at the chance to vote for an utterly unqualified woman for vice president.
You gotta love a guy who thinks things are that simple.
Women already outvote men in this country, and it isn't because we like voting for all those women on the ballot.
Does McCain think we will be so grateful for a skirt on the ticket that we won't notice that she's anti-abortion, a member of the NRA and thinks creationism should be taught alongside evolution?

I heard about the article on a morning talk show. The host just mentioned it, intending to do “labor day special’ topics. His callers kept on this dreadful column for the whole three hours.

Never saw a copy but I probably wouldn't read it if I ever had. A decade or so ago, I had a Clinton joke page on the web. It was a personal thing with a little bit of a following (I had 2 million hits by the time I closed up shop on 1/21/01.) When the Lewinski thing hit the fan, I got a sudden influx of interest. Here's the thing, I managed to keep in G or PG rated as far as the jokes went. And I didn't fall into the trap of doing Lewinksi jokes because that would've been letting Bill and Hil off the hook. Not my goal.
Anyway, I was interviewed by phone by Jeff Upton (IIRC) who spent most of the call inquiring about doctored Monica porn images. I didn't run that sort of thing. He really didn't care what I did run.
Oh, and I called him in response to an email. He never offered to call me back so that the call would be billed to his office instead of mine.
