It was to be expected that the left wing smear machine would go into overdrive upon the announcement of Governor Palin as John McCain's veep nomination. What was not expected was how unbelievably low they would be willing to go.

Better yet, what are the chances of an ENTIRE STATE AND THE MEDIA going along with a hoax for a woman who NOBODY believed would ever run for anything other than Governor or Senator from Alaska?
There would have been NO REASON a year ago to cover this up.
I posted this thread over four months ago. At that time Palin wasn't on ANY list of potential running mates. Why would a woman go public with a ruse when the easiest thing would have been to keep it quiet?
I guess I was just kind of thinking that when I got to your post. I just don't know how to understand this. When I was little, there was a Down Syndrome child in the neighborhood. She had some big, strapping handsome brothers and loving parents. They would arrange for us to play with her and when it got too much (she was not high functioning), they would gently end the visits. No one took it amiss and everyone knew they loved her.
Later, when I was an adult, I taught a dance class and met her again with others from her group. They were joyful and dear and so loved those classes. They are human beings and, in liberal speak, among the least of us, and yet they just hate them. I just do not get this.

I did not see the show, but evidently Sam Donaldson made hateful remarks about the Downs Sundrome child this morning and George Will was ready to knock his teeth out. The Will family reportedly has a Downs child.
Perhaps we need her here to tell us all how awful this is and perhaps get Obama to call off his minions?
What's that Dr. Allen? Oh! That only works when the Left sees someone on the Right supposedly smearing them? I see. What? Oh, the smears against Palin and her family are ok becuse the end justify the means, which is a Obama presidency! I see, well, so much for calumny!
I’ve maintained accounts on Freerepublic and Democraticunderground for many years. I stopped voting in ‘92 and until the past week, I was narrowly split between McCain and Obama in an ambiguous, “not going to vote anway” way. I have issues with McCain’s “Keating 5” past.
But DU finally seems to be cruising over the deep end. The threads on Palin for the past two days were incredibly offensive and foolish from a public perception standpoint.
And Andrew Sullivan is just bizarre.
I disagree with Palin in many areas but I just say, her nomination exposed a shocking degree of hypocrisy from the Left.
I’m actually thinking about registering and voting this year now.
Leftise make it seem as if Palin unilaterally took the decision. And the doctor was right, since the baby was born with no complications other than Down.

If the left is sinking THIS LOW, THIS SOON, it is obvious that they are terrified of Palin. A lot of Hillary supporters are coming out strongly for McCain-Palin and Obama is worried.
If it was true and provable, this would be an “October Surprise.”
