As I reported earlier, the scurrilous claim that McCain vice presidential pick Governor Sarah Palin faked her pregnancy with a Down's Syndrome child is beginning to spread among the lowest of the nutrooters. Now, the unhinged, smear site DemocraticUnderground.com has boosted this lie to their front pages. Naturally, since these hate sites feed into each other, the spurious source of the DU story is another DailyKos story like the one I earlier reported upon.
Of course, this whole meme is nothing but a lie. Are we expected to believe an entire state, its hospitals, doctors and media establishment helped cover up this pregnancy story? And they all did this for a Republican, to boot? It makes little logical sense to believe a word of this black helicopter conspiracy theory. Next thing we know, the Kossacks and DUers are going to expect us to believe that Big Foot and some gray aliens were the attendants at the birth!
But, here is the thing. This hateful story about the birth of a child with Down's Syndrome is exactly the sort of lowest, gutter ideas that float through the empty space in the voluminous heads of our friends at the lowest depths of the Democratic Party and the lefty movement. There are some sick, sick people over there and stories like this prove it.
Pile this on top of the low blow from TV's Alan Colmes who claims that Palin didn't practice proper prenatal care before she had the baby with Down's Syndrome, blaming the Mother for her disabled child. Why is Obama planting this smear?
It sure has around here. Although absurd at face value, and deeper, this story has produced a bunch of posts here at FR.
My advice: Leave it alone to die a lonely death.

But to many pro choice people, it is the ultimate betrayal of the daughter. She was “punished” with a baby, and then the baby was “deformed”. The “compassionate” thing would be to kill the child.
So this is a big deal to those who think like that.

And lied to the rest of us, dragging in a goodly number of people into the conspiracy. Maybe that's something that would occur in an inner city tenement, or a rural trailer park, but I give Sarah far more credit than to try to pull a stunt like that.
I hope Gov. Palin and her family were fully prepped and knew that all kinds of crazy stuff was going to come out about them.
The DUmmies even poosted a picture of Bristol, the teenage girl who supposedly was the one who was pregnant, in a tight top with a little bit of a belly pooch, posting “I’m a woman, and THAT’S a pregnancy!”
I smell desperation in the air.
Palin should silence her critics once and for all by holding a press conference, present a certified copy of Trig's birth certificate for examination by a neutral party (I'll suggest the Anchorage Daily News).
She should be flanked by McCain and his wife, and Palin's husband (but NOT her daughter). She should introduce a few medical professionals, who have provided sworn affidavits attesting to treatment of Palin during her pregnancy.
No questions, no attacks on the perpetrators of this slime. A simple, no-nonsense statement -- nothing more.
It will leave the media speechless. And will end this once and for all.
Tack this back directly to the Obama campaign.
Make him respond to it.

That picture was apparently taken in 2006, about a year and a half before Trig was born.
That would be rather extraordinary for that to cause an extra chromosome. Colmes is making this up - and it is a rather disgusting thing to make up.
We could show the baby’s birth certificate if Obama showed his?

Rational thought to many dems, especially those incensed about not being the party in the WH for 8 years, is not even possible.
For weeks and weeks, there was speculation that Obama forged a COLB, but that never made it into the MSM.
Sarah Palin was named as McCain's VP on Friday, and this story is "gaining steam" and may break into the MSM at any time?
Meanwhile, the MSM sat on the John Edwards love baby story for a year?

Let them run with the story. The more they build it up, the bigger the blowback will be.
I'm with you. That would be showing a mother's unconditional love, which mothers understand, and since so many lefties don't have their babies but choose to kill them, they can't understand.
