I was watching something on Most Evil the other night where a retired policeman was trying to figure out who murdered the Black Dahlia. The conclusion he finally came to was that it was his own doctor father. He also thinks his father was the Lipstick Murderer in the Chicago area. Currently a man is serving life for the lipstick murders that happened more than 60 years ago. The guy was just 17 when implicated and he may be innocent. It was interesting and incredibly sad to contemplate that an innocent man may have been sent to jail all this time and had his whole life ruined.

Back to the Zodiac, I wonder why this Zodiac guy quit or did he continue but just not as the Zodiac? Will be interesting to find out if all this is true.

Speaking of unsolved mysteries, whatever happened to that guy in Canada that claims to be John Kennedy's love child? Never heard more on that.

That brings back memories. The teachers got real serious about telling us kids what to do if we encounter a bad guy like this, such as writing down his license plate #. I still look at license plates of almost every car that I encounter, almost 40 years later. Ferinstance: The license plate number of our VW van 40 years ago was RXB 259.

I think it was in 1972, I was walking home from the bus stop after school, and someone stopped to offer me a ride. He’d pulled his car off the road and was leaning across the front seat to open the passenger door. I looked at him, stammered some excuse about my house being very close by, so I didn’t need a ride, and backed away. A look of incredible, absolute rage came over his face, and he slammed the door and pealed out, kicking up dust and rocks behind his car.

A few days later, a picture was printed in the newspaper, asking if anyone had seen a particular car. A 15 year old girl, hitchhiking, had gotten into the car and no one knew where she was. I don’t know why someone had taken a picture, but it was the same car I had seen. Her body was found about a year later.

I told my friends at school that I had come face to face with the Zodiac... but in truth, I don’t know. I do know that the guy I saw was never caught.

Thanks for posting this. I just watched the Zodiac movie with Robert Downey last week, and this article is pretty intriguing.

I’ve followed this case very closely and have studied numerous police reports and read both books on the subject; seen the interviews of the surviving principles. In my opinion, this case ended when Allen died in 1992. The ONLY conclusive proof of the real Zodiac was at the Lake murder and only Allen weighed enough to have left the boot print. If anyone wants further proof, see the “Director’s Cut” of the film of last year.

Virtually all of the Zodiac cultists are out of their ever loving minds. They are in my view mentally ill and have no life outside of their obsession. Every week, some new suspect is trotted out. It’s pure craziness.
