Actually, we are finding out THIS WEEK that he actually DOES have experience. He was Chairman at CAC when Billy Ayers was the operations guy and together they wasted $100 million with zero results. 'Course Barack doesn't want you to know about it.
I like Condi Rice. I admire her. I think she’s a great American. I liked her better as National Security Advisor than as Sec of State. I just don’t think she’d make a good President.
I’m definitely NOT against a woman just because she’s a woman. I’d love to see a female Pres or VP, just not the wrong one. I wish the Republicans could run someone like Margaret Thatcher or the late Jeanne Kirkpatrick. I just don’t see any viable candidates that have the national recognition and experience to 1) be a great Pres or VP and 2) draw in votes.
Bwahahaha!!
Well if executive experience is the key then Sarah Palin is less than half as good as Jimmy Carter. Right?
And what happens if he picks Hillary as his running mate?
Sure. This makes sense. The Dems are expressing their fears and providing assistance to the GOP about who should be the VP nominee. They fear a woman and hope McCain will select Romney. That’s the ticket.
Why not be honest and admit that neither one is? So selecting a vice president who is no more ready to be president than your opponent means you can't use that arguement as an attack against him.
“Palin is even more unqualified to be President than Obama, and with McCains age, thats a critical point to consider.
Shes a former beauty queen who earned a bachelors in journalism from University of Idaho, served a few years as city councilwoman and mayor of a town with a population of only 8,500 people, and served just 19 months as governor.
And you think shes ready to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency?”
I think people are way to worried about John McCain dying. His mother is still rocking it, so I’m not too worried about McCain. And besides, only about 10% of voters are “issues” and “qualifications” concerned, the rest just look at what’s pretty. I say pick the best person who gives you the best chance to win, whoever that is. Because a “McCain/Most Qualified VP Choice” loss might make conservatives feel good because they stood on “principle” but at the end of the day Obama might be President. I’d much rather go with “McCain/Most Likely to Help Win” than someone who might not help.
Though I was initially a Romney supporter, I don’t think he helps McCain, but I do think he is very qualified to be President. I would be happy with his selection, but I would not choose him. Coupled with McCain I think he is a net nothing. Cantor is boring, and a net nothing. Giuliani is a net nothing.
Unfortunately, much of Politics is a beauty contest, not a battle of ideas (and we need look no further than Obama to see that). I think Palin is interesting (though not AS qualified to be VP as many others) and I think that helps. In politics, you are nothing if you do not win.
Who gives us the best chance at winning? That is the question.
How about a conservative like Sue Myrick?
“Palin is even more unqualified to be President than Obama...”
Who cares as long as she puts that beautiful face on television and repeats over and over:
“Drill here...Drill now!!!”
Is there any Republican out there that we would feel comfortable with being a heartbeat away from the Presidency? Why does it have to be gender specific?
Who’s the fairy?
“Can he put a dress on Cheney and pick him?”
LOL
Cheney in drag would still be more attractive than Hillary;^)
I am soooo with you. I,as a female, DO NOT want a female president. With McCain’s age the real possibility is there. I’ve donned my Nomex, so flame away.
I thought many times....you just get a "time out".
