What’s the difference bewetten Bill Ayers and Timothy McVeigh?

For one thing, Timothy McVeigh was basically an isolated psycho, not part of a huge international movement to overthrow the American government. Another is that Timothy McVeigh didn't help launch John McCain's political career. Also, McCain didn't serve on a board with McVeigh for several years, or appear with him at various speaking events such as the following:

The Center for Public Intellectuals & The University of Illinois-Chicago (UIC)
April 19th-20th, 2002, Conference

[Participants include: William/Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn, Sen Barack Obama]

"This conference is part of the Center's mission of helping to create a more engaged civil society, working towards social change, fostering coalitions between theorists and activists, and combating anti-intellectualism in contemporary culture. It will be both a celebration of ideas and a rigorous examination of the roles and responsibilities that intellectuals play in society."

Great points, ETL... I don’t think McVeigh was an isolated psycho exactly, and I do think he had ties to Islamic Radicals (see Jayna Davis’ book “The Third Terrorist”).

However, the other points you make are very good...

One thing that occurred to me right after I posted is this - and correct me if I’m wrong, but was this what you were getting at, massgopguy?

1. McVeigh was (according to his beliefs and statements) fighting against the radical socialist and anti-Constitutional/anti-gun actions of the Clinton’s and the Democratic Party when they were in power. If one is to believe what we read - McVeigh was supposedly getting revenge for Waco by participating in the OKC bombing. It was more of a convenience factor I believe that he worked with the Islamic Radicals. [This doesn’t, IMO, make what he did right - I don’t think we’re at the point to call for a revolutionary war/civil war, as McVeigh had suggested in the years leading up to the bombing.]

I also truly believe that the Clintons capitalized on McVeigh’s involvement thus letting the real masterminds - the terrorists who have ties to the same cell that went on to commit 9/11 (the group STILL in Norman, OK), and some say most likely the OU Bombing too - get away all in an effort to prove their point about how “dangerous” the “bible-clinging, gun toting”, Constitution-loving, “conservatives” were in our country at the time... (to paraphrase Obama).

2. Ayers is on “their side”... (meaning leftists, liberals, communists, and Democrats) and has NO INTENTION of keeping our constitution intact should they ever have the opportunity to do away with it... He has readily admitted that the revolution he is calling for is NOT to restore the Constitution, but rather to dismantle our government and set-up a Communist government in its stead.

Gosh, you’ve got me writing a pamphlet here, eh??? LOL
If I were to really examine these things closely I may have expressed some of these things differently, and I would definitely double-check some of the things I have attributed to McVeigh, as it’s been a LONG time since I’ve delved into those subjects, honestly.
