A disgrace. I wonder how the bosses back home will take it.

A disgrace. I wonder how the bosses back home will take it. Nowhere near as badly as they'll take his losing. I fear that an Olympic ban will be the least of his problems.

Gonzalez also alleged the match was fixed and accused the Kazakhstanis of offering him money. Projecting?

A lifetime ban! That means he won’t be able to compete until the 2012 Olympics.

The Castro brothers have far more interest in sports than they do in the welfare of their people.
Angel Matos is going to be in a deep well of sh*t when he goes home.

All he needs is a Cuban passport with a new name and he can compete. Just ask the Chinese gymnasts.

roundhouse
all the refs are former competitors, too, wonder how the ref will feel that he didn’t even raise his hand to block?

yeah, anyone in the fighting sports who lays out a ref or hits an opponent after the fight needs to be locked up.

Looks more like a roundhouse kick using the arch of the foot.
No more free apartment for him.

In the picture, it appears the ref was about half way to a block.

Angel Matos now can look forward to a life of harvesting sugar cane on the Castro brother's little island of "fun."
Matos might as well off himself to ease the pain.

I do not have a crystal ball, but I do not think the Cuban Government is going to throw Angel under the bus. On the contrary, they are probably good and mad and united behind him. National pride you know. He was bribed whether it is true or not. I tend to believe he was. These folks have become as crooked as the UN.
