I will support a McCain/Romney ticket. Good on you to teach about Reagans switch. This site is Reagan or die.

Bush41 was a well known moderate in 1980.

Right, GHWB was a moderate, not a conservative. Ronaldus Maximus chose a moderate to strengthen the GOP ticket. McCain in 2008 has garnered the GHWB moderate/independent vote in the GOP primaries, whereas Romney has been the choice of conservative voters (don't make me post the exit poll tables). Of all McCain's viable Veep choices, Romney has had the greatest conservative support. But you have a problem with that, for some reason.

Romney is nothing but a newcomer to the conservative cause and so far, I’m not impressed.

So, your Romney antipathy is because he is a newcomer? Is that the reason, really? Why do we think if Romney ably supports the conservative cause for another 4 years, and is no longer a newcomer, you'll be no less anti-Romney in 2012?

Norman Bates, you and I both know that men win elections based on likability and an impression of being trustworthy. This is where I think Romney has fallen short with the public. You know he spent tons of money on his campaign and badgered each state to vote for him and yet he still couldn’t pull it off. Why?

The “energy” on FR for him is indicative of nothing, as you know, based on comparing FR polls with actual election results.

Yeah - that’s what happens when fringe bigot wackjobs take over

There may be a day when a rino muslim or other non JudeoChristian running on the republican ticket for POTUS and you dissggree with his/her policies or record and call you a fringe bigot wackjob. Just something for you to think about.

That seemed a disrespectful post and does not reflect well on your nominee for VP.

He didn?t connect with the other candidates or the audience. He may be a nice guy and he is a successful guy, but he hasn?t mastered appearing genuine in public.

Those are the same words I heard CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC etal use to describe Romney over and over in the primary.

I have read through all the comments on this thread. You were being rude and obnoxious and got the smackdown. Now you are pinging others to see the post by the “bigot”? Would you like some cheese with that whine?

I was never much of a Romney supporter, but at least those who supported him here during the primaries did so thoughtfully and with some semblance of class and respect for others.

LOL

The Romneybots are now claiming that Romney has a “foredained” right to the VP and POTUS...

That’s religious bigotry and racisism from the Romneybots...

Obama has just as much democratic right to the POTUS, but the Romneybots have denied him that, with their mumbo jumbo..

BTW I have yet to see a post by a Romneybot that backs Eric Cantor for VP..

All the Flying Imams want him for VP...

Can you say...Romneybots are anti-Semitic as well as anti-Christian ???

A bigot’s a bigot.

BTW = ironically your post reveals that you didn’t read all the relevant posts. I was responding to someone who commented on my observation that many Romney detractors are bigots.

Furthermore - who do you think you are? My mommy?

Screw

Nonsense, the VP must be someone who can go on to be President who many many cannot vote for if they are pro-choice.

Listen up.

McCain is no Reagan.
Romney is no Bush41.

After supporting liberal issues and liberal causes for 35-40 years, an abrupt change overnight is nothing to get excited about. JimRob has said, Romney needs to spend the rest of his life making atonement's for his liberalism. I won't go that far. But mere rightwing rhetoric during one GOP primary season, doesn't make Romney a conservative. With his penchant for shape shifting on the issues through the years, it'll take a good while to convince me Romney is a true believer in limited government federalism and holds real respect for the unborn.

Your book of mormon was written by a conman...

The FR Romney loathers all say that their anti-Romney obsession is because Romney isn't sufficiently conservative, not because he is Mormon. Romney being Mormon, has nothing to do with it.

Then you see that the self same anti-Romney posters can't help but spout anti-Mormon drivel. And those anti-Romney posters who don't go anti-Mormon, are nonetheless unconcerned when their fellow anti-Romneyites go bigot.

if it’s Romney, it’s still not the end of the world. Not only would McCain-Romney wipe the floor with Obama and whoever he chooses, but some GOP seats in Congress would be salvaged as well.

Thank you...finally some savvy and sanity
