I am not a big fan of a political rookie either. So Michael Steele if you like. My point is that since we get to see what the Dims do, I am hoping McCain makes his final choice after seeing what they end up doiong.

There have been a gazillion rumors about Veeps, and usually they make no impact at Intrade. This one is different. Romney is up 27.2 points, and last traded at 54.1%. Go Mitt!

Anyone who would appeal to the people of Massachusetts would not appeal to me. He either lied to them about his positions or he is lying to conservatives - I tend to think the latter.

BUMP that! It's exactly what I've been saying for the past year - - if the same turd-mice who haven't sent a single Republican to Washington in 12 years and who routinely re-elect Kennedy, Kerry, Barney, Delahunt, and Markey elected Romney, why in God's name would I vote for him?

McCain's VP selection is make or break for my vote. The selection of Romney would seal the deal for me sitting out. Of course, it will take a jaw-droppingly good choice in the first place to make me put vice-grips on my nose and vote for McCain.

Could that be the result of his reputation in business and his connections? Hmmmm? ;-)

and he chooses a loser from the primaries

Nothing has been chosen yet, and your Romney list reads like dem talking points, always the same and about as accurate.

I bet you were hoping it was Lieberman.

Umm...no. I don't wish for leftists to be running with the republican label attached to them.

I want Sarah Palin.

I am guessing Portman because of the announcement coming at the Nutter Center and Rep Boehner has been pushing him.

Think it would be a good pick for McCain.

The one thing is I believe Romney would have to resign from his PAC to run as VP (I could be wrong). Which is why he made himself honorary chairman and not full chairman. (Smart guy.)

Who says America isn’t about the automobile? To heck with public transportation (and my hubby is retiring next week after 31 years of service in the human cattle car industry). Congratulations, dear husband (the great GOP_Harley_Guy); you’ve paid your dues BIG TIME.

With that statement it shows you do not have a clue. Go Mitt.

Textbook answer from DU... you cannot refute a statement with facts, so cast an insult...

What has happened to FR? This election has apparently caused the concept of "standing up for Conservative Values" to disappear from this board. Maybe the left has truly won the victory no matter who is elected in November - because by insuring that a ultra socialist runs against a moderate, with real conservatism thrown out the window, they have caused those that once were sincere and dedicated Conservatives to become all mealy-mouthed just like the RINOs that we love to rag on.

Last election, folks started talking up 3rd party because Dems and Repubs had left Constitution-loving Conservatives without a solid candidate. They were shot down with the suggestion to "change the Republican Party by working with and in the Republican Party". So what did we end up with? Something far less Conservative than we had before, a party that is actually picking up speed moving further and further to the Left.

And here so many on FR are swallowing the liberal Kool-Aid and just saying - party at all costs. Kind of reminds me of all the crazy folks who are planning on voting for Obama - because of his race, not because of his platform, experience, viewpoints, or other applicable qualifications (if any).

We blindly vote for the "Not Obama" or the "Not Hillary" candidate, no matter what that gets us - reduced Liberty, further erosion of the dollar, out of control government spending, and no energy policy - just to name a few things.

I am so disappointed. I am as Anti-Obama as anyone. But I am sick and tired of "those in power" deciding who I am voting for (because I am only give two choices - bad or really bad).

Maybe another way to look at it - much as the WWJD fad, lets think in terms of what would our Founding Fathers Think? Those same founding fathers who believed in liberty, tempered and controlled by faith in God.

Exit polls are notoriously wrong and ALL votes count in the primary. Besides, there are a whole lot of pseudo-cons and neo-cons in the GOP, pretending to be real deal conservatives. I don't buy that bulloney and you shouldn't either.

Hello President Obama.

I'm not sure even a perplexing and maliciously stupid move like choosing Romney for a running mate would cause McCain to lose to that crack-smoking homosexual Obama, but it sure wouldn't help him. A Massachusetts liberal? Good grief!

Romney tanks the GOP ticket

What is the purpose of Romney? Does he win Massachusetts? No. Does he win Michigan for McCain? No. Utah? Locked up already.

Romney would be the worst, most pointless VP pick since Al Gore in 1992 (in terms of bringing anything new or fresh to the table).
