WASHINGTON, (AP) -- Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., has broken her ankle and will skip next week's Democratic National Convention.
Feinstein, who was one of Hillary Rodham Clinton's top supporters, was to have chaired California's delegation to the convention in Denver.

Snakes have no appendages.
I wonder if it’s a DVT issue and they’re worried about blood clots....
Her dentist also told her not to go — the grinding if she was there to personally witnesse the formal burial of the Hildebeest’s political career would be really bad for her teeth.
I think she is the first of many who would rather chew off an appendage than go to this fiasco in the making
I forgot all about that Far Side cartoon....THANKS!!! I needed the laugh.
This means that the Hillary coup is a done deal.
It got removed. What was it?
Having had a badly broken ankle that put me in a cast for about twelve weeks a number of years ago, I know how bad something like this can be and wish her a quick recovery. Been there, done that, Di Fi, and it ain’t no fun.
I can’t blame her. It’s probably kind of tough to get around on just one hoof.
Am not a fan of Sen. Di Fi’s politics BUT
give her some slack. Bad enough to break a bone but at 75 is ruff.
Now she can devote full-time to saving the planet. Take 3-4 days at the most.
Try breaking one before you say that. Been there, done that, and it ain’t no fun. If she had to have an open reduction, as I did, she could be in a cast for twelve weeks and have a good deal of rehab to to afterwards.
Can’t imagine how hard it would be to fly with a broken ankle. My friend flew with a broken pelvis - seems like that might have been tougher. But then again, this is a Dem.
There is one “non-vote” for Hillary! Kwame Kilpatrick makes two, John Edwards Makes three, William Jefferson makes four.
All she needs is about 120 “non-votes” by the super-delegates and the convention goes to a floor/cat fight.
My money is on Hillary! to win !!!
Too bad she didn’t fall on Barbara Boxer.
Wow, in just a few minutes, two conservatives came up with different solutions to the same problem, yet somehow, with far more time to evaluate the situation, Senator Feinstein and her doctor couldn't come up with anything that would allow her to attend. If I didn't know better, I might conclude that she actually didn't want to go. Fortunately, I know how liberals think. If they can find an explanation that excuses their failure to accomplish something, they're happy.
