They are never leaving Georgia! It was all an evil plot. Russian forces are now heading for the Armenian border. Latest news is that Iranian forces have crossed into Armenian territory as an agreed slice up of Armenian territory.

The two forces are scheduled to meet up around lunchtime tomorrow. The flow of Russian weapons will start immediately through the Russian-Iranian road link. Expect an update tomorrow on how Russian forces are now heading for the Persian Gulf.

I know you’re a Buchananite (or maybe a leftist, it’s hard to tell the difference) who thinks he’s being witty, but this scenario is really not that far-fetched.

The US has been watching Iran in the ME, all the while ignoring the growing connection between Russia and Iran. When the Russians started arming and assisting Iran several years ago, we did give it a look, but we wrote it all off to simple Russian greed and the willingness to sell arms to anybody rather than a calculated strategy of building up an alliance.

You do know, don’t you, that Russia and Iran both have “petroleum technicians” throughout the sympathetic left-wing governments of Venezuela and other gas and oil producing nations in its political sphere, and are clearly working together in trying to consolidate their joint power over vital oil supplies.

The Russians think that they can ally with Iran and use it against us. The Russians are fools and will end up losing to Iran, because the Russians still have one disadvantage against the Muslims: most Russians want to live. The Muslims don’t care.

But in the meantime, Russia and Iran are definitely tag-teaming each other, at the least, and I think this will become clearer as time goes by.
