...it is hardly surprising that Congressional Democrats have lined up solidly behind legislation to let union organizers simply collect signed cards from a majority of workers, in order to be certified as the officially recognized union for those workers.

It's not just dems. My idiot republican Don Young voted in favor of this last year. I found out when the Teamsters put on a radio ad asking people to call his office and and tell him thanks. Instead, I wrote him a letter and and in not so many words, asked him WTF?. Amazingly, he tried to defend the bill. When I wrote back again I asked if he was ok with of congressional elections being held via non-secret ballots, since it was apparently ok for union elections. He didn't answer that one.
