Russian news reports are quoting President Dmitri Medvedev ordering a halt to Russian military action in Georgia.

Is it my imagination or don’t we have an elected President saying the same thing?
Entirely too funny about his emminence!!! Haaaaaaaaaaa Ha Ha!!!
LET's DRILL and LET's ROLL, NOW!!!
Russia practiced international entrapment by issuing passports to anyone in those annexed regions that wanted them and then invaded as those newly minted Russian citizens rebelled and were rightly suppressed by the Georgian government.
I just saw a picture of him with his fellow thugs in Osettia, but it was dated yesterday. Perhaps he's still there?
Yes, but that doesn’t count because obama is “The One” to America’s Pravda and the dimocrats.
Well now, of course not. He's the soulless soul of honesty.
There's a lot of confusing reports in this conflict, but I did see one that mentioned that thousands those "newly minted" citizens removed themselves to North Osettia before things heated up.
Who knows? It certainly wouldn't be surprising.
Yes, it is a defense pact and membership gives one protections but it also defines what will be tolerated and what will not be tolerated.
Russia will be placed in a more difficult position as intended by policy, and one can only guess how stupid they may be.
Should they not curtail their aggressions, the pact becomes justification and takes the U.N. out of the loop as is necessary. If war is launched, then the cause is easily determined.
Wars have never, ever been avoided through weakness. It's never happened that way yet some continue to try. You can't avoid war by not being prepared for it 24/7 and we need to always be prepared and ready to commit. It's the only way to avoid it.
“Putis is emulating the tactics of [previous rulers] to reassert Russian power...and protect its oil and natural gas interests against rival Western energy companies.”
This certainly seems to be the case. They have forced BP out of the country. Georgia has a major pipeline to European markets. Last year they stuck it to the Ukranians on energy. Oil prices are coming down, but I would stock up on heating oil and storm windows early, because we have no idea what Russia may pull this winter that could push prices sky high again.
Nice Georgia/SO detail.
Reeeallly kind of makes you think McCarthy was right, doesn’t it?
thanks Ernest
Thanks
Oh yeah...Old Joe was right. He certainly was.

Billboards around Tskhinvali show Vladimir Putin with the legend "Our President." (This is during the summer of 2007.)
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
Thank you for your feedback.
Yes, the pipeline and NATO...that’s what this is really all about, in my opinion.
Yes, Russia has been reverting back to the bad old days for quite awhile now, in my opinion.
