So now there a bunch of these smaller republics now on their border; some wanting to join NATO. I am not defending how Russia is responding. There are enough slavic countries who harbor resentment for the way they were treated and rightfully so.
You might have also added that the Mexican gov’t extended citizenship to the Californians then armed them to lob the mortar shells into Nevada claiming the Californians turned Mexicans ... oh, never mind. What a mess this is, especially with US so energy dependent.
I’m sorry but I take little pleasure when the same Muslim terrorists that murdered thousands of Americans are murdering Russians. The senseless murder of children in their school may be a cause for you to celebrate but I don’t join your celebration
So...have the troops stopped with taking Ossetia, or are they continuing to attack Georgia?
Do you REALLY think Putin gives a rat’s rear end about Ossetia?
Georgia is a small democracy and has been a good ally to us. They DESERVE to be a member of NATO....and I, for one, think they ought to be fast-tracked into membership. I also think that Putin should be advised that NO arms will be allowed into Cuba from Russia.
I agree, regardless of what the previous generations did, muslim terrorists killing innocent children garner my sympathies for Russia.
But in this situation, I am on Georgia’s side.
If a border town in Arizona or Texas decided it would rather be a part of Mexico, would we just say “Ok, see ya later” and move our border accordingly? Heck no! And I don’t buy the Russian account of Georgia bombing South Ossetia.
I told many that the first wave of Georgian soliders were not Georgian. They were Anglo’s with full NATO/US BDU’s and weapons.
Yeah, Russians are so good to their own people too. At this rate it will be a thousand years before the Islamics pull even in the who killed the most race.
Putin, the KGB goon, agrees with you.
As to the analogy with respect to a community in NM or AZ wishing to secede to Mexico and Mexico entering the fray, it is not quite analogous to this situation. S. Ossetia has been an relatively independent jurisdiction for many years. They were allowed a semi autonomous government by the Georgian government. It had been agreed that they could operate as such. No Arizona or NM community as far as I know has been allowed that kind of position.
However, I am not sure I would be opposed to the granting independence to about 20 counties in Texas along the border. The American taxpayer would undoubtedly come out well ahead. Providing we erect a wall on the North side of their independent state and not allow reentry into the US.
Are you sure you meant to post that to me?
No.
I meant to send it to the recipient of your post, but I’m a bit tarded.
No worries - I’ve done that myself on occasion ;)
You might want to look into the train and equip program we've been running with Georgia - your friends probably deserve better than what you're doing to them.
IIRC and I DO!, we expressed tremendous sympathy for what happened to those school children. Also, the idiot Condi Rice and her boss have been trying their best to be best friends with the Russians no matter what they do.
After Beslan Putin, following a few speeches of pretended outrage and sadness, went on selling war materiel to Iran to be used against US. This was after he helped Iraq against us in the war.
Iraq is a muslim nation. Iran is an insane with jihad, slavering muslim nation.
Apparently Pooty Poot didn't give much of a crap about the very people (muslims) who butchered Russian children after torturing and raping them. WE CARED MORE ABOUT THOSE KIDS THAN HE DID! I'm not saying the Russian people didn't care about their kids, but Pooty obviously did NOT or he wouldn't have worked with their killers.
As far as who started what in Ossetia or Georgia, I would suggest you look back a few incidents more from wherever you stopped researching facts to base your decision on. Russia has been squirting quite a lot of false info out of every orifice on the whole thing. I wouldn't suggest you take my word--check on your own and see what you come up with.
Source, please???
Then why did Georgia start hostilities and think we would automatically back them up? Should Russia feel threatened? I mean the US invaded more countries in its own hemisphere for the same.
Thank you! If you find more sources, I would be interested.
