This entire mess is due to the lack of attention by Bush and Rice, this has been the worst president in history as far as foreign policy. I know Putin is shaking in his boots to hear that Jimmy is on the way. I give away my age, but I remember one statesman who came back from Berlin, with the reassuring statement “ Peace in our time”, I don't want to hear it again. This little brush fire in Georgia reminds my of Hitler’s march into Alsace and Lorraine, then the Checks. Heaven help us/

Some would say this is due to entirely too much meddling by Bush and Rice when they knew that Putin didn't cotton to no pesky cowboys parked in his favorite vacation spot. I certainly have no foreign policy skills, but sometimes it is “best to do nothing” as General Allenby once said, and that is something that GW has been unwilling to do. As I have said before, I cannot fault GW for going into Iraq after seeing a map of our installations and based upon the intel we had at the time, but I can see where we've popped the Russians in the nose a few times over the years, stared them down, succeeded in Afghanistan when they couldn't, parked our missile defense systems on their backyard, and by God, enough is enough as far as Vlad is concerned. But, hey, what do I know?

“I know Putin is shaking in his boots to hear that Jimmy is on the way.” I think that was a joke. I hope it was a joke, I mean, I really hope that was a joke.

Fox Reporting that Russian troops have entered the Oil/Gas port of POTI...

This is southeast of Senaki, a city the Russians took last night. It is also the ONLY Oil/Gas port for exports to Eastern Europe from the Caspian republics.

This means the pipline to Turkey is the last non-Russian Controlled export point now, and it’s a guess as to how much longer that will last.

Too late, the Russians are halfway into the country.
The Georgian president is on television telling them to stay in their homes, that he loves them, and everything will be ok.
I am hearing from my friends there in email and they are terrified.

I AM SO ANGRY. Please forgive me. This is an invasion and nothing less. The Georgians are kind and good people. The world will stand by and watch this happen? The Poles will come out soon to their aid. Where are the Ukrainians?

and perhaps even take the capital.

There are a lot of Americans in Tbilisi. I was there a few years ago. There is an Ambassador in Tbilisi.

The Russians are about 20 minutes away right now.

Maybe Bush and Putin are tired of Islamic Militants... Putin shuts down the Black and Caspian Seas..Borders on Islamic States... The US controls Borders around Iran/Syria.. And the Persian Gulf..And our President doesn't seem all that concerned about Georgia...Hum!!!! Almost like it was planned...
