"Joe Lieberman, the former Democratic vice-presidential nominee who has endorsed John McCain, is being vetted as a potential running mate for the Republican presidential hopeful, according to an adviser to Mr McCain’s campaign."

"Conservatives would be pissed as hell – I think you would have a revolt, but sometimes John does what John wants to do,” the McCain adviser said.

He and Obama bow to the same master. We are allowed to vote as an amusement. Makes us think we can have “hope” and “change”. What a freakin’ joke.

You always say it better than I can. Thanks!

“Uh no....he was on a ticket that won the popular vote.

And what we need in 90 days is....{{{drumroll}}}.... VOTES! “

OMG, you will justify anything. Why not go get Bill Clinton, he won the popular vote too!

I MAY vote for McCain, in the end. Mainly in opposition to Obama. You’re obviously promoting McCain’s centrist policies, over the conservative agenda. That is a different situation altogether.

And opposing Roe v Wade and wanting to see it overturned, is still a major issue within the conservative movement. You downplay the abortion issue because it suits your moderate politics. For a good Goldwater libertarian, you fit the bill.

With Liberman on the ticket, I think it gives those disenfranchised Clinton supporters more of a reason to vote for MCCain. Now will that gain offset the loss of the conservatives who stay home? It would be interesting to see the numbers.

LOL! Well for that matter - Saddam Hussein got, what? 99% of the vote - too bad he's dead - McCain could pick him.

I don’t downplay the abortion issue.

We’ve lost over 45 MILLION Americans and counting. That’s not funny.

But it should be a State’s Rights Issue, IMO.

Goldwater firmly believed in personal responsibility...small govenment....low taxes....Capitalism with a big “c”.

If it weren’t for Goldwater...there would be no POTUS Ronald Reagan.

And my FRiend...if you insist on pushing me out of the conservative tent labeling me a Liberarian...this conversation if finished.

Clinton is not eligible. But I think Al Gore is available.

Heck, he might even be willing to put an (I) by his name as long as it "saves the planet."

How low will the GOP go to "win"?

>>>>>I detest hardcore extremists ...

LOL Think I'll ignore your obfuscation.

Your MO has always been to oppose real conservatism and accept more centrist politics. That is why Rudy McRomney is your type of candidate(s).

The liberal establishment has always opposed conservatives like Reagan and FReepers like myself. I'm sure you'll be using pejoratives to label conservatives as extremists in another 10 years.

Thanks . But , I don’t deserve it. Many people around here are far better with words than I am. I am a reader and I have read many conservative authors from many years ago.

I am glad my book written by Robert Bork was never returned a few years ago. I hope it is being shared. If anyone needs an explanation for what is going on now, I suggest reading Taylor Caldwell. Many of these books are available, and very expensive to buy now, even the paperbacks. You want the pieces to fall in place? Open up one of her books.

Truth is, there will be many people here that will flame me, she is controversial, especially in liberal thought, but she nailed the way of things. I am comfortable because of reading her eye opening novels.

Just wait, I will get flamed for suggesting her books. It ain’t pretty for either party, but is is the mind of a conservative. You know, like one of those people that used to be? LOL

How low will the GOP go to "win"?

When someone's only goal is to "win," the answer to that is easy: As low as they think they have to go.

You're such a typical moderate-centrist.

When exposed, you start morphing on all the issues.

>>>>>If it weren’t for Goldwater...there would be no POTUS Ronald Reagan.

If it wasn't for Reagan's speech, "A Time for Choosing", Goldwater would've suffered an even larger defeat at the hands of LBJ. Reagan didn't run for Governor California because of Barry Goldwater. But he won in spite of Goldwater's embarrassemnt in 1964.

If you want to run and hide from debating me, go for it.

Taylor Calwell. Thanks for the tip, I’ll definitely look for her books. There are many people who get what’s really going on & it’s pretty scary. Unfortunately, there’s too many people willing to be led around by the ring in their noses - how easily they can be manipulated!

IMO, this election is the most important in our history given the choices.

The winning ticket in this election is going to be two candidates who have ‘shown’ they are able to flip off their respective parties...and display true Centrist, Independence.

...For the RATS are stuck with a radical Black Liberation Ideologue...a Marxist...who is not afraid to tell us he will confiscate corporate profits...not afraid to say he will raise taxes...not afraid to say that he considers himself a citizen of the world...but IS afraid to to tell a 7 year-old girl he LOVES AMERICA.

...while the GOP is stuck with being a target of the MSM and stuck with the country having “Bush Fatigue”....and is stuck will too many crazy uncles in our attic in the state of perpetual whining....who scare the hell out of average voters.

So....if that is true...what don’t you understand?

Who, specifically, are you referring to?

Can you name some names?
