“According to the map of the region, Georgia is but one country away from Iraq and it borders the NATO member Turkey.”

That still doesn’t change what I said. We have enough problems dealing with Iraq and Afghanistan. The last thing we need is to get involved between Georgia and Russia. Especially since the USA set the precedent in Kosovo/Serbia. Yes I know, it’s all Clinton’s fault for getting us involved in that mess, but Bush has backed it up. Let the rest of Europe assist Georgia.

Well, it appears that the border of Georgia is 300 miles from the border of Iraq. That is approximately the distance from California's border to the border of New Mexico. Not saying it is our fight, but it is very close. You can bet your bottom dollar the Pentagon is watching this with keen interest.
