Depending on how this develops, they may be airworthy in no time.
Heck, they still fly the Osprey.
" ... - awful long way back to base to rearm and refuel."
Much longer than Iraq?
Several people were saying it, not only you. I just don’t like to see a whole breaking news thread end up sidetracked with a discussion of NATO’s supposed imminent intervention when there is no treaty obligation and no likelihood that NATO will get officially involved. Turkey, maybe.
From another site:
“Georgian minister denies that its troops are reatreating from Tshnvalli and says that its under Georgian controll.”
There is nothing on DU yet. Time for my shower, later.
They are all Godless heathens.
Someone posted some pics upthread. I wouldn’t know as I am waiting on a meeting to start and posting via my iPhone.
Is that an older picture or one from this new/old war?
Bet pizza delivery is constant at the puzzle palace today.
They could refuel in Iraq, but the stockpiles of heavy bombs and antiarmor weapons they need are not in Iraq, they are back at the bomber bases.
Over Georgia’s survival as an independent country, maybe. But I can’t imagine many in Europe being willing to take a stand against Russia over South Ossetia.
With words, sure. But with military forces? No, Georgia had better not be counting on much help from Europe.
Not the Georgians...
About 82% of Georgia’s population identified themselves as Georgian Orthodox in 2002 (the remainder being Muslim, Russian Orthodox, Armenian Apostolic, Catholic and Other). In 2002, it was reported that there were 35 dioceses and about 600 churches within the Georgian Orthodox Church, served by 730 priests. The Georgian Orthodox Church has around 5 million members around the world (of whom about 3,670,000 live within Georgia) and administers, as of 2007, 35 eparchies (dioceses).
I’m finding most of my stuff via another website ... it is noted there as all current ...
but, there is alot of “stuff” swirling, so who knows.
The Su-25 was originally tagged as a Russian Su-25 being shot down .... others jumped the claim saying the pic had been up for hours and the original caption was of a Georgian Su-25 in action against the S. Ossetians.
Alot of fog of war, as there is with any war type breaking news story.

Was that just last month? There was a B-52 that crashed off Guam within the last few weeks, but I saw a report on the B-2 that crashed there in Popular Mechanics that said they figured out what caused it (moisture in the sensors, compensation by ground-crew, then moisture evaporated at take-off and sensors gave erroneous readings - corrective action was to warm the sensors on the ground before calibrating to ensure moisture was not a factor). Thought the B-2s were back in the air by now.
I doubt it. They are an entirely different kind of "Muslim" More of a blend of Sufism, mixed with old country Bolshevik daily life traditions, 50 years behind modern methods.

TGIF went out the window with this dust up.
Pizza, gallons of coffee, and tons of Roll Aids, Zantac and the Purple Pill will be consumed at No Such Agency instead of a nice weekend at the shore or the beginning of a vacation.
