Obama Drinks Organic Tea

The Senator's Beverage Preference Gives McCain Camp Some Ammo - No, Really

You'd think McCain's camp would be busy worrying about offshore oil drilling or the facial growth he had removed at the Mayo Clinic. But Team McCain couldn't pass up the opportunity to slam Barack Obama for drinking organic tea.

Are you kidding me?

As Ecorazzi asked: Does anyone smell desperation in the air?

The Times Online reports McCain's team accused Obama yesterday of playing the race card. Meanwhile, the presumptive Republican presidential candidate is running ads portraying Obama as a vapid celebrity comparable to Britney Spears. (Harvard Law School, anyone?)

The article says that in a memo after the commercial, Rick Davis, Mr McCain’s campaign manager, wrote: “Only celebrities like Barack Obama…demand bottles of an organic brew - Black Forest Berry Honest Tea."

At a rally yesterday, Obama responded, “I do have to ask my opponent - is that the best you can come up with? Is that what is worthy of the American people?"

Ecorazzi wonders if McCain would like to comment on his $520 Italian leather loafers.

Here in the South when people order tea with the meal they mean honest to goodness fresh brewed ice tea not hot tea in a cup. But it seems up in Daleyland they prefer bottled herb tea. Only the Lord knows what's in those bottles.

McCain better not let Obama turn himself into Obama.

That is cheating in my book.

An excellent article in the WSJ, entitled, Barack Obama, Shaman, explains that Obama has developed a metro sexual persona, so that the new Messiah can be a male nanny. It was all explained and predicted by Machiavelli.

It may sound bizarre, but it was really an excellent article, one of the best that I have read.

You know, if the liberal author of the liberal Daily Green piece used the entire quote from Rick Davis, it was actually much funnier. Here's exactly what Rick Davis said:

"Only celebrities like Obama go to the gym three times a day, demand 'Met-Rx chocolate roasted-peanut protein bars and bottles of a hard-to-find organic brew — Black Forest Berry Honest Tea' and worry about the price of arugula."

Now that made me laugh for about 7 minutes when I read it on this thread yesterday.

I can't really see this as a winning line of attack. While more people might start to think of Obama as elitist, McCain will be seen as a tired, weak old man desparately attacking the younger more vibrant Obama.

I drink a lot of alternative drinks. Some of the organic drinks are the only ones I can find unsweetened. If people think I am an elitist because I don't like to slurp down a quarter cup of corn syrup with every drink then I'll gladly take the label. And a lot of people like to make fun of latte drinkers. Well start drinking some starbucks capuccinos with little or no sugar and after awhile, regular coffee in other restaurants will start to taste like laundry rinsewater.

Dems usually say a Harvard degree is worth nothing.ie GWB receiving an MBA there.

No, they say a Harvard degree isn't worth anything if a Republican gets one; if a dimocRAT does, it's quite valuable.

Black Forest Berry Honest Tea

Looks like a calculated beverage of choice.

You just never know how a campaign is going to evolve. If you had told me the big “thing” the first couple of days of August would be Obama compared to Britney and organic tea I would have said you were crazy.

Of course last Dec, if you had told me it would be Obama v McCain I would have said you were crazy too.

The funny thing is though, the Obamaites are saying it is “desperate” when McCain has CAUGHT Obama in the polls and erased whatever lead there was....even though polls are what they are...how does that compute to desperate?

I don’t think they even understand how out of touch Obama and the whacky leftists in San Fran, Hollywood, Manhattan, DC and the other elites are with flyover America.

They are upset, and don’t even really know what they are upset about, because they don’t get the parody of themselves.

It is like the teacher with an odd way of speaking and odd tone who never gets that the students who are “goofing off” are making fun of her/mocking.

They haven’t figured out that they AREN’T in the mainstream, and have to cover it up. Someone in the McCain camp gets it. Thank God.
