Well, what can I say... it seems that You Tube doesn't really believe their own press.... I'd like to remind us all of YouTube's policy enforcement -- in their own words...
How do we implement YouTube's content policies?General Policy Enforcement Information
The standard of behavior we expect of YouTube users is set out in our Community Guidelines. If a user posts a video or otherwise behaves on the site contrary to these Guidelines, we will generally remove the offending material, and apply a Community Guidelines warning strike against the account of the poster. These strikes stick with the accounts belonging to that user for six months from the date they are received. If a user receives such a strike they will be notified when they next log-in to their YouTube account. For reference, copies of the notice are also sent to the user's email address and YouTube private message inbox.
The first strike on an account is considered a warning. If an account receives two strikes within a six month period, the ability to post new content to YouTube from that account will be temporarily disabled. If there are no further issues, full privileges will be restored automatically after a period. If an account receives a third Community Guidelines strike within six months (before the first strike has expired) the account will be terminated. (Oh REALLY!? Do tell!)
When a user has posting privileges temporarily disabled on one account, for the duration of the suspension that user is also prohibited from posting material to YouTube using any other account. Attempts to circumvent this rule may result in immediate termination without warning of all accounts.
A user whose account has been terminated is prohibited from accessing, possessing or creating any other YouTube accounts.
Serious safety and privacy violations such as threats and harassment may result in immediate termination without prior warning.
In some cases a video may be removed for the safety and privacy of the user who posted the video, due to a third-party privacy complaint, court order or other unintended issues. In these instances, the user will not receive a strike and the account will not be penalized.
How do copyright strikes and community guidelines strikes interact?
YouTube enforces a policy that provides for the termination in appropriate circumstances of subscribers who are repeat infringers. This involves a copyright strike count completely separate from Community Guidelines strikes. Please note that unlike Community Guidelines strikes which expire after six months, copyright strikes do not expire. A copyright strike can only be resolved if the user submits a counter-notification and prevails in that process. Please note that there may be adverse legal consequences to filing a false counter-notification. DISCLAIMER: WE ARE NOT YOUR ATTORNEYS, AND THE INFORMATION WE PRESENT HERE IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE. Has this always been YouTube's policy?
No, much of this is new. We are currently revamping our policy implementation for greater transparency and a better user experience. We will keep you updated as we make further changes.Last update: April 9, 2008.
Hundreds of thousands of videos are uploaded to YouTube each day and because of the enormous volume of content, YouTube says it is impossible to pre-screen each video before it is posted on the site. YouTube largely depends on users to enforce its community standards. (Hmmmm...... which users are you listening to?)
July 2008 Results:
34 Suspensions
With those 34 suspensions, 1224 videos were removed from YouTube:
(large bombs represent 25 videos, small bombs represent 1)
Good results, yes, but there are some things to be concerned about as well...
Bomber Girl is very pleased to be associated with Free Republic
and would love to hear your thoughts on the matter!
If you're new at this, we'd love to have you working with us. Here are the steps for flagging videos:
(H/T to rawcatslyentist):
#1) If you don’t have a YouTube account, go sign up for one. You don’t have to use it for anything but this.
#2) Click one of the links below, let the video start and then click the pause button on the player so you don’t have to actually watch the propaganda.
#3) Below the video, click “Flag as inappropriate.”
#4) Choose “promotes hatred or violence”
#5) Where it says “please indicate the group attacked” choose National Origin.
#6) Where it says “provide additional information.....” type or copy/paste in the below statement.
Providing services to terrorists violates executive orders 12947 and 13224.
So — you got game? If you do, freepmail StarCMC to get on the pinglist -
typically one ping per day - and start flagging! And THANK YOU!
Thank you all for what you're doing here!
13 more hirabist videos down yesterday!
Smacked Down 7/31
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION:
The DNC apparently thinks that it's a great idea to politicize the deaths
of our brave ones and have decided to use video very similar to that which
we are battling on YouTube every day in an anti-McCain ad.
Regardless of your view of John McCain, using the deaths of our soldiers
in a political ad is morally reprehensible. If you have the time, please
see this thread and then voice your displeasure with the DNC.

So — you got game? If you do, here’s your first list — a couple of the videos have already been Smacked Down! WOOHOOO!! Let’s get the rest!
ONE MORE THING...a hat tip to others who are working with us...
jihadiSMACKDOWNoftheday
STOP INTERNET TERRORISTS
I Will Not Submit!
SMACKDOWN Terror
Kane Kaizer's Legionnaires
Mablung's YouTube Channel
This list will remain up until these videos are down. For whatever reason these particular videos have staying power. No matter how often they are flagged, they just stay up. So I figured we could flag them several times each -- not every day by each person, but each of us maybe once a week -- and maybe YouTube will get the point.... I will add a new "stubborn" video to replace each one we get removed!! We'll keep 5 or 6 on the list.
New YouTube Smackdown Ping
Freepmail me to be on or off the Smackdown Pinglist!
Thank you for helping!
What are you trying to say in two sentences?
In two sentences:
YouTube is not enforcing it’s own policy very well although we are flagging in accordance to their policy. In effect, they are allowing the enemy free space and audience for their propaganda message, which is against their own policy as well as against executive orders.
I hit a bunch of them this morning
w00t!!
Thanks for this very detailed report and for the good work you are doing.
Thanks for reading! :-)
Why not post a long thread?
Flagged a few this morning, but the following message come sup:
“Per our Community Guidelines, hate speech is specifically defined in reference to “protected groups.” “
Does that mean that they’re not honoring the flags now? That violence against national origin isn’t good enough?
Off to work, flagging!
Cool! I got all 5 on the 8/1 list.
Done!!!
Well, this is thread number 5. The people that come to this thread everyday and flag the videos deserve to know what’s going on once in a while. So yes, it’s long, but for those who are doing it, it’s interesting. So here’s a question back to you...why not follow the old adage about remaining silent if you have nothing profitable to add? Or am I misreading your intentions with that comment?
That comes up every time, but hasn’t stopped them taking down videos in the past. I think it’s a CYA statement! :-)
Yeah — and he’s an American to boot. Traitor to the Nth degree.
Hey!! You’re not so boring, Mr. White Guy! LOL!!!!
(Thanks!!)
Thank ya kindly, ma’am!!
