John McCain has five weeks to choose his Vice Presidential running mate. Typically the most a presidential candidate can hope for is a partner who does him no harm. That criteria having been met, the choice is only important if the race is close; landslides arent caused or prevented by vice presidential candidates.
So the question for John McCain is who, if anyone can significantly influence Americans to vote Republican in November. The answer is Mitt Romney -- and for many more reasons than that he can deliver Michigans 17 electoral votes to the Republican column for the first time since 1988.

“Let It be Romney, Please!”
I am to the point almost where I am going to vote for the ticket so long as he doesn’t pick Crist, Graham, Rudy or another democrat for VP. Sadly I think it may be likely he does that, since he lives to kick conservatives in the crotch.
As soon as Romney falls down on his knees on national TV in front of God and everyone; and repents and begs for forgiveness for all the innocent young lives that were murdered in the womb on his watch after he ran on the pro-abortion platform, then I will consider it. If the man had any integrity at all, hed resign and spend the rest of his life and the rest of his money trying to undo some of the wrong hes done. But not as president. That office is reserved for honest men of the highest character and integrity.

“They believe if you ain’t Baptist you ain’t Christian.”
Actually it’s more like “if you do not believe that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God or believe in the Triune Godhead” THEN you really are not considered Christian by many people.
Yes, there are just too many problems with Mitt Romney.
After all, he is a Mormon, been married to the same woman for about 35 years, has four sons, and eight grandchildren. Certainly NOT a nice Christian family.
Then there is the fact that Romney was just to successful in business and made lots of money.
Then there is the fact that he was elected Governor of one of the most liberal states, and did succeed in making some positive changes considering having to work with too many DEMS.
And on top of all that, his hair always looks good and he dresses like he cares about his appearance.
He just isn’t good enough to be McCain’s VP and forget the fact that he is MORE conservative than McCAin.
Actually, a lot of people did vote for him in the primaries, and in states where there are vulneerable House and Senate seats to contest.
As if....Mitt is the one. Bay,Monica Crowly and ME! I love Mitt. Every time I think I might could vote McCain I hear him talk.
So I’ve been reading your posts on this thread and having a heck of a time trying to figure out wether you hate Romney because he’s rich, Mormon or both.
In an election where we should be getting our arse kicked due to 8 years of an unpopular Pres. and an unpopular war and a slowed down economy...the safe choice is Crist from Florida, but he only gaurantees a state we should win.
Romney will carry Michigan and make us serious challengers in Minn, Ohio, Pa...plus he is seen as a proven businessman in a time when the economy is not on solid ground.
It’s a good pick.
Dirty socks? A sink full of dishes? A hairy back?
I used to be VERY pro abortion, unfortunately. And I can tell you, emphatically, I have changed completely.
It does happen.
I read up on Mitt in the fall of 2006. He explained his change, and told the people of MASS he wouldn’t throw them under the bus about it. He received I am right sure a grade of of A or B from a right to life group AND the NRA....
That was good enough for me.
Mormons seem to be very moral people to me, which helped reinforce it for me, PLUS NO DIRT has ever been found on him. He could be the only politician in America who has only ever slept with ONE woman, has never done drugs or alcohol.
For a politician I give him an A plus and would vote for him for anything.....
LOL!
Well... If it's a choice between a Mormon and a RINO...
Um...
That came out wrong.
I'll have to get back to you later on this one.
Excellent points.
Mitt is the man.
Honest, moral and ready to go on day 1.
Like I say, I’m willing to give him a chance on the matter. I’m just a bit skeptical at this time.
People certainly do change. You don’t even want to know how far left of center my political beliefs were during my late teenage years scarcely more than a decade ago. Thankfully, that only lasted a couple of years lol.
At least Mitt Romney did not dump a sick wife for a mistress and plans to bring the Other Woman to White House. At least he does not meet secretly with LaRaza. At least he has no mental and physical ailments and has energy for the job. At least he understands economics and has had administrative experience.
Fred as VP candidate would certainly bring the conservative base in-line with that half a democrat McCain who's only our nominee because of liberals and independent crossover voters in Iowa, New Hampshire South Carolina and Florida.
I'm leaning toward Mitt to win key states and make juan competitive in others. Romney is definitely the best candidate for economics and he will attack barry hussein's policies - something juan will not do to his friend across the aisle.
I think this obsession is over kill who ever it will be, will be!
Remember the Lord is always in charge and if we get good or terrible people it is wisdom of the Lord.
Who knows better when we should be bless or chasten!
