An earthquake is now rocking the Southern California area. (I'm near Dodger Stadium)
As I post this, the USGS has not yet determined the epicenter so click on the link above for the exact location and magnitude from the USGS.
Here are the maps for California and Los Angeles:

Here's the historical review of the last seven days:
Arnold is holding a press conference at 2:15 I think....
Hope you and yours are OK.
One of my customers was from Yorba Linda. She is having work done at her home - guys on scaffolding. Unable to contact anyone at the house, so her husband -who works closer to home was going to check on things. His office received quite a jolt - things flying off shelves etc.
Still cannot believe this was only a 5.4
You're near the beach, so there was probably some liquifaction - like jello down below...
Yes, that’s it. Thanks for the info.
Work in Kearny Mesa, didn’t feel a thing. *Shrug.*
Basement? I’ve only felt a 3.2 baby quake and the last thing I’d want to do was run down into the basement. More like run the heck outside? Give me a hurricane over a big quake any day.
some Pomona alley if it’s the same one they showed on KTTV
Down here in Encinitas visiting kids and grandkids - embarrassing to say, none of us felt a thing!
They say that Eagle Rock is becoming one of those up and coming places now. If I were to move back to that area (I live in Orange County) I would look in Eagle Rock. In appearances, it really hasn’t changed since I was a kid there 30 years ago. And it has a great location.
Arnold is going to tell the response workers they are working for $2/hr.
Culver dittos. It was over before I even got out of bed.
At 4:57 a.m. on June 28, 1992, a very strong earthquake occurred in the High Desert of Southern California. The 7.3 earthquake was centered on the eastern side of the San Bernardino Mountains near the town of Landers in Homestead Valley.
I woke up probably 2 minutes before that one hit.
No, I didn’t feel that one. I was in Moorpark, CA at that time. Hmmmm

Real Player: Living with Earthquakes in Southern California
Did you see Kate Hutton telling the viewing public at large they need to lobby the state for $$$ for responders and emergency? She was asked about the earthquake warning system and said we have all the ability and knowledge — just no funding. And it ain’t gonna happen this year, no way would Schwarzenegger allow it. I can’t stand the guy, but like it’s HIS fault there’s no money in California.
All of this was at the same time she admitted that the early warning system wouldn’t have done any good with today’s quake.
We live in Encinitas (Cardiff) and my son said if lifted two legs off the ground. He was a in a hi-chair that sits up at our garage computer, and thought someone pushed him.
I felt it down around La Jolla, but my wife was in the car and didn’t feel a thing. I was rocked fairly good.
I was living in Palm Springs at the time..I had attended a wedding the night before and was nursing a Champagne hangover and when the landers quake hit I was so concerned about my pounding head the shaking did not seem to phase me~ LOL...
