Governor Jindal (LA) is on FNC right now..may not be on for long...
Big whoop. I got married that day, and the aftershocks lasted ten years until I finally filed for divorce.
The office I was in in the Valley was trashed - the walls separated and you could see through the cracks to outside.
Hey there, some rockin & rolling in San Diego but all is OK
It was rocking pretty good down in Costa Mesa at work.....
It’s Obama reacting to the news that McCain is up by +4.
Drudge Report says it was felt in Vegas
and he put up KNBC’s live feed. That’s the most potential audience Paul Moyer’s had in years.
Major story seems to be that a Walmart in Anaheim on Euclid had to close to clean up the merchandise knocked from the shelves....floor tile knocked out...folks are waiting for it to reopen...
This was a mini-Northridge quake......
Chattsworth? Two “t”s???
Slow news day when a 5.4 quake hits, not no small deal for those that felt it....
My dad stated that he was in the LA County USC Medical Center during a quake, and saw a wave coming down one of the long halls. It hasn’t seemed to cause him to fear them. I can see how it could. If I would have seen what you and my friend did, it might worry me a lot more.
I moved out from Missouri in 1969. The 1972 quake was my first. I had a hard time getting out of bed. I had my brothers and sisters evacuate to the front lawn. (Big mistake) Houses ride these things out better than individuals in most instances. It does depend on the residence.
My big thing growing up was tornadoes. For some reason I sweat them more than quakes. I’ll take a quake any day over a tornado.
It does seem that it’s hard to feel earthquakes when driving. I too feel them best when laying down. As for standing, I don’t feel them much then either. If I’m sitting, it generally takes a three point five to four for me to feel them.
Yippie!! Another OBAMA photo-op!
I was in an elevator on the 9th floor when it started...had no idea it was an earthquake but the elevator was making very strange sounds as if it was going to break.
Not good.
Yup. Lived here for a long time now. Funny, but that quake was not all that far from where I was born (March AFB).
lol!
I have never heard them. However when I used to live in Sunnyvale, I would hear the sound of glass moving back and forth in the windows. maybe that is the sound, I don't know. I always thought that was the effect of the earthquake and not the quake itself.
