The Price of RomneyCare
The Wall Street Journal ^ | July 29, 2008 | Unattributed

Posted on 07/28/2008 11:06:24 PM PDT by gpapa

Gearing up for 2009, liberals are eager to claim Massachusetts as a Valhalla of health reform. Their enthusiasm is apparently evidence-proof.

Even Mitt Romney, who should know better, took to these pages recently to proclaim, "Health-care reform is working in Massachusetts." Shortly after Mr. Romney's self-tribute, Governor Deval Patrick wheeled out a new $129 million tax plan to make up for this year's health spending shortfalls. Yet partisans are cheering the cost overruns as a sign of success.

I don’t want Romney in the VP slot, nor will McCain give it to him. Whoever McCain picks is going to suck anyway, so who cares?

I almost wish he’d pick Crist just to get him out of Florida.

Yeah he didn’t like it, which was why he signed it, took credit for it and why we all call it Romneycare.

He used it as an example. His plan was different in many ways and the Mass. plan was changed after he left.

Fact is. Most people get some kind of taxpayer funded coverage that are poor. Thus a program like this saves a lot of money from Emergency Room visits, and numerous other plans providing care right now in every State.

Like it or not some program will come into existence. I pray we shape it into something that does not destroy the private system and does not pay illegal immigrants care. Eliminating the E R system we now have that requires free service to illegal aliens at our expense. They just use a fake name and leave the area never paying.

Romney wold give American-taxpayer care to Hezbollah
in RomneyCARE2.

With the impending bankruptcy in Mass over this, Romney
is the ‘wet dream’-VP of the DNC and MSM, eager to have
a yet another hook on which string up Sen. McCain.

Look for: Hillary/Romney in 2012

Wrong. RomneyCARE is a fascist, socialist plan
installed by Romney, created by Romney, and forced
on the people without a vote ... by Romney.

(it has been his way, has it not?)

Every socialist, fascist SCHEME of Romney from
gay marriage imposition against the Mass.Constitution,
to RomneyCARE=HillaryCARE without a vote,
to coverup of the BIGdig for campaign contributions,
to overlooking GOP judge candidates to get murderer-liberators
in for perpetuity,
to his HATRED of the military as it slogs for America,
etc.
has been precisely for the national stage in that all
Americans are now the victims and the payers forever.

What a plan (not)!
Let’s let Romney destroy America like he did Massachsetts
(and then had to flee to California). [\s]

It may come as a surprise to some on the left, but it is the Bush administration that made the state of Massachusetts’ health-care revolution a reality.

Not just the Earth. The entire galaxy. Feel the love.

Romney on Hillary: "Hillary Clinton is very much right, it does take a village, and we are a village
and we need to work together in a non-skeptical, non-finger-pointing way..."

(Mitt Romney, "For City Problems, Future Solutions," The Boston Globe, 3/1/98)

Sen. Hillary Clinton on RomneyCARE=HillaryCARE: "To come up with a bipartisan plan in this polarized environment is commendable."

Thank you, your form reply has just reminded me why I stopped posting in these threads.

I’ll stick to bashing Democrats. At least that way I only get reply-spammed once in a while.

Terpfen: So Romney is off the political stage
but still set to be tarred and feathered
for a program he expressly did not like
and did not intend to bring with him on the national stage?

Please. You got caught making several false statements --- three in one sentence.

Romney is NOT off the political stage, as you know.
Romney dictatorially imposed exactly the program he wanted.
And, Romney DID intend to bring it with him on the national stage.

The definition of “false” is not “something you disagree with or dislike.” Try again. Actually, no, don’t. There isn’t enough coffee in the world to get me to argue with brick walls this morning.

What planet are you people from?
First, Romney ‘suspended’ his campaign like Hillary(his love).

Second, Romney was quite happy with his RomneyCARE(see the pic
above, smiling is he not?)

Third, Romney was always on the national stage. He was
NEVER in Massachusetts and NEVER (until the last day)
supported the woman GOP candidate after him.
Hence, the Mass GOP was destroyed, because like Obama
it is all about him, him, him.

Healey was never going to succeed him. He picked the biggest cypher available to him, deliberately sabotaging Jim Rappaport (in ‘02) in the process (somebody who could think for himself). Indeed, Healey was somebody who’d never challenge him, and somebody utterly incapable of winning a race of her own accord. She lived up to both.
