The significant news coverage Barack Obama is receiving on his foreign trip has not translated into a bounce in his numbers, a just-released FOX News poll shows. Obama now holds the slimmest possible edge over John McCain, leading by just 41 percent - 40 percent in a head-to-head contest. In fact, Obamas support is down slightly from his 45 percent - 41 percent advantage last month.
Opinion Dynamics Corp. conducted the national telephone poll of 900 registered voters for FOX News from July 22 to July 23. During that time Obama was traveling in Jordan, Israel and Palestinian territories. In the days before the poll was taken Obama had been touring Afghanistan and Iraq. The poll has a 3-point error margin.
Among independents, Obama has a narrow 2 percentage point edge: 34 percent to McCains 32 percent, and 34 percent undecided.
McCain has more strength of support from his party faithful. Fully 86 percent of Republicans back McCain compared to 75 percent of Democrats that back Obama.
Given that the independent vote splits about evenly, one might expect McCains strength in Republican support would give him an advantage overall. The reason that fails to happen is that the pool of Republican voters is smaller than the pool of Democratic voters, which means McCains party-based edge has less impact on the race than it might otherwise. In this poll 42 percent of voters identify as Democrat and 33 percent Republican, and thats about where the party identification numbers have been all year.

ManDingo?
He is the Anti Christ. well....anything is possible.
Did you happen to click your mouse and drag it past the BO in my earlier post?
It has been observed by many that Obama does not wear well -- like any phoney, the more you see and hear of this sociopath, the sooner you see through the act and get tired of it. The drive-by media may have inadvertently done America a real service with their drooling wall-to-wall coverage.
Hahahaha! Love it!
Yup. No bounce.
Not a surprise. They guy was losing Democrat primaries after the media had proclaimed him the Messiah and it was obvious Hillary couldn’t win.
I made an extra line on my usual FR file so I just copy and paste that part.
Obama blowing off the wounded troops in Germany = Dukakis in the tank.
Hes the ultimate empty suit. His statements today bear no resemblance to ones he made days, weeks, or months ago.
He is, in an even worse sense than JFKerry was, a complete media fabrication, a synthesis. They could take any ourageously absurb buffoon at random from the Phone Book, and do the same thing with the same results.
The real reason is that possibly a generation ago, "Journalists" were taught that they dictated Public Perception. The tenured radicals behind this are retiring now, or, hopefully, dying, but the damage has been done.
Yup....can call him HObama now!!!
His trip to Iraq and Afghanistan reminded everybody that he’s not qualified to be the CiC.
Wall STreet/NBC poll have him up 6% and if BArr and Nader are in it’s 13%. So you tell me who’ right?
I don't agree. No shoe store owner or manager would want a shoe salesman who continuously puts his foot in his mouth.
I agree with your comments. I would add that the one skill he has is the ability to address large audiences with a prepared set of remarks. When challenged, he melts.
He is essentially a snake charmer. And considering the party he’s in, that’s quite effective.
I don’t know, that could be quite effective if he were trying to show how well those shoes held up under less than desirable circumstances. That this guy is a nominee of a major political party in the United States, makes our election process look like that of a poor third world nation.
You know, people here see through Obama, what worries me is, many do not. They just want to go with what seems to be popular.
I truly worry about the future of this country. Both options presented are sickening.
Is this available as a Tshirt? If not, could you open a Cafe Press store?
I agree. The next four years are going to be tough on Conservatives.
