The Dallas Morning News ^ | -7/19/2008 | Matthew Haag

Seventh-grade boys at Sunnyvale Middle School feared going to first-period PE class. They knew what might await them: Vicious sexual attacks by older eighth-grade students. Throughout much of last school year, a pack of eighth-graders repeatedly threatened to sexually attack the younger students before and after class...

I could only engage in wild speculation about what's going on in that district. I've worked in a public middle school here in a very conservative county in Texas for 13 years. Never once in that time have I seen (Thank God) or heard of such a thing having happened.

I can tell you what I said before: Large numbers of middle schoolers are not going to sit on a secret like this one. Stuff nowhere near as horrible as this leaks out-- and leaks quickly. That this is reported to have gone on over 7 months is absurd. It doesn't pass the smell test.

It seems very odd to me that the coach(es) didn't know anything about it. Another question I have: Was the superintendent's son in on this? Amazing things happen when this is true.

By the way, in our conservative school district, we don't teach homosexuality or that it's OK. We pledge allegiance to the flag each day. I don't get any literature from NEA because I don't belong to NEA or any of its affiliated organizations.

In general, have to agree with you, especially here in Texas.

“Too busy teaching the joys of homosexuality”.
Thats right, but these boys would deny to the bitter end that these are “Homo” acts. I personally think they just enjoy the “domination” factor and are just old fashioned bullies just bullying in a “new” way.
They need their asses kicked.
Today’s urban Youth (meaning primarily Whites) are ill prepared for this type of aggression with Pacifism pounded into their heads from the beginning. We have to get away from that crap.
When I was in the 7th grade, I kicked the ass of a 9th grade bully in the hall and my female teacher came out and praised me for it. Of course that was a long time ago.

Some how the predators will be the ones aggrieved.

Sickening in the extreme when our kids can’t be safe in the school. Teacher predators, kid predators, etc.

To say nothing of a curriculum designed for failure.

Talking to the parents is likely a waste of time. The kids will lie, parents will believe them. Then the rotten kids really will take action on the younger kids, knowing which parents told on them.

I believe you THREATEN the parents. “If anything happens to my son, BY ANYONE at that school, I will personally hold you responsible. You do not have to worry about a law suit, you do have to worry about me, 24/7.”

The point of "Talk to the parents" was that they are responsible for who their children are.

I'm still wondering how so many (5-6) little perverts all ended up in the same grade in the same middle school. I repeat: This story, as presented, doesn't pass the smell test. There's more to be discovered.

That school LOOKS like a prison. I’m not very surprised that some of its inmates behave accordingly.

If I was in charge of the world, schools wouldn’t even HAVE sports teams.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

School team sports should be transfered to the Parks and Recreation Department! Then all children ( private and home schooled) could participate.

I believe that government schools support and uphold the government school monopoly on team sports because it helps guarantee parent and voter support in the polls. The parents and voters identify with the “rah rah” of the school team and are then more likely to vote “yes” on school issues. Also, it guarantees some students will attend just so they can have a chance at the monopoly government team.

The government school monopoly is perverse! Government school monopoly team sports are even more perverse!

Those who advocate for privatization of K-12 education ( vouchers, tax credits..etc.) often overlook the power of government monopoly team sports. They should start the process of pulling sports away from the government schools. Do this and they will have more voter support for privatization.

Good point!

Treat kids like prisoners and they will act like prisoners.

By the way, I bet the locker rooms and group showers have that prison look as well.

However, with as little time as many children spend with their families these days, maybe they’re learning it in daycare, school, sports teams, and from their entertainment.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

We have a small zoo in our county. My husband and I were visiting it one afternoon and a pre-school day care group came through.

We watched as some of the children teased the peacocks, and pushed and aggressively and “accidentally” bumped the other children. Already, even on the pre-school level there was evidence of prison-gang bully behavior.

The day care workers looked tired, overwhelmed, and past feeling and merely hurried these pre-schoolers from one exhibit to the other.

When you consider rape, it is a crime of violence. The usual motive is to humiliate and intimidate the victim. That also applies to the incidents in the locker room.

I’m with you on this one. We’ve seen it too many times, pedophiles cannot be rehabilitated (and yes, they are pedophiles, or more accurately sexual predators). How many more victims are going to fall prey to these wastes of space?

I take no pleasure in the realization that these feral life forms (because they are far from human) have little if any social redeeming value. We can be reasonably assured that if they are NOT at the minimum, locked away from society for the rest of their lives, that they will prey upon the weaker of us until they are either gunned down by law enforcement after a trail of victims as long as your arm, or finally locked away and executed when they inevitably murder someone.

The Supreme Court took God out of the schools and legalized homosexuality. This is the result.

Who are we to judge?

This isn’t about hormones...it’s about educating kindergarten kids into homosexuality...

Hmmm...Seemed more like wannabe prison/thug behavior to me.

Herding children around in age-segregated packs is almost guaranteed to generate prison-gang behavior, even in what might otherwise be decent children. There’s a reason that humans are born (as a rule) one child to two parents, at a time, rather than twenty 4-year-olds to three exhausted ladies who no doubt wish the zoo refreshment stand sold vodka in liter bottles.
