Not many citizens want to admit that we are in a WOT but thank God for GW Bush. He has been steadfast about delineating the fact that we are in a world wide war on terror and that at times we have to go where the terrorists are to keep them from coming here. He has done a darn good job of it IMHO.

To say that he will be missed on this issue is a vast understatement.

Leftists are interested in providing "fixes" for the consequences suffered by many as a direct result of the inability to deal with freedom. A prime example of this was Schwarzeneggar's sorry comments this morning on Face the Nation. Playing to the nickel seats as usual, Arnie applauded efforts to ease the pain of Kahleeforneeah's homeowners by increasing the size and availability of mortgages etc.. As a very successful businessman, he knows that overextending one's debts can be and often is the kiss of financial death.

But what the hell, when someone is probably toying with an eventual run for the Senate, why not tell the folks who have been unable to manage the freedom to run their own financial affairs what they want to hear? What does it matter if they are given more credit rope with which to hang themselves? It's all part of a vicious circle that the Lefties (of both parties) use to gain power.

Rats and Rinos know that freedom will always lead many unprepossessing citizens into deep waters. The trick is to simply make it appear that the gradual removal of more and more liberty is good for everybody. A tremendous irony is in play. Freedom inherently includes the right to fail; failures are then leveraged into reasons to enact more government controls. This is a shell game that the Collectivists have honed to perfection.

What is leadership through consensus, in a democracy? How does he intend to enforce the consensus?

Ahhhhh, Obama, whether you like it or not, President Bush is doing what he thinks is right, and that is more respectable than worrying about what others think about us. Also, being you haven’t seen the classified intelligence the President is privileged to, do as Bush suggested, don’t paint yourself into a corner, for the sake of the American Forces who are living, fighting, and working in a war zone.

Not to totally disagree about the McDole campaign, they stole Romney’s economic Plan, and have shown some game, and McDole’s spunk exceeds Obama’s, which given the age difference, shows their not in the same league.

I have just finished listening to This Week on cspan radio. It was pathetic.

Cokie Roberts thought it was a good thing for the Obama girls to be exposed to tv appearances. To her it is an upside to all the downside of growing up in a political family.

I wonder if she ever expressed the same opinion during the eight years when Chelsea Clinton was off-limits?

Donna Brazille shared that she would like someone farther left than Obama to be his veep pick, then she qualified her support of Lieberman in 2000, by saying “sometimes we have to be pragmatic.”

George Will said that Basra became a successfully pacified city because the British forces pulled out.

Steffi had a 22 minite-plus interview with Schwartzenegger - no news made. Ahnold is just repeating what he has always said, while slamming President Bush at every opportunity.
