When I first heard former Senator Phil Gramm refer to our economic condition as a mental crisis and suggest that too many Americans had become whiners, my immediate reaction was, too bad too few Americans would comprehend the hard truth he just set before them
(snip)
Technically speaking, as if the facts matter any more, Phil Gramm is right on both counts, though it was dumb of him to think he could just blurt out the truth to an ignorant American electorate at this late date. He wins the dumb award for not knowing how the whiners would react to such a comment, or how the dumber would jump at the chance to exploit it.

How did they all get higher?
And, more importantly, how does government make them all lower?
OK - so leave me off “your team”. I don’t really care.
I’m not an idealist so your comments are blather to me.
When I heard the Gramm’s full statement, it didn't come off the nasty way people like yourself are interpreting the news reports.
For instance the “housing crunch”, I just learned today that a simple townhouse down the block sold in one week with three offers. My neighbors just sold a two flat in Bridgeport after ONLY one hour on the market with seven offers coming in. So, despite all the WHINING in the news, people are getting loans to buy houses. I believe Gramm was really speaking about the idiot business news reporters that make it sound that everyone is homeless, with no jobs, no savings - no nothing!
“I dont really care.”
Clearly, there are many who “don’t care” about the facts. But they will care soon...
Just stop pretending to be “conservative.”
Conservatives seek to “conserve.” You seek to destroy. Tell people the truth. You want Obama to win. It doesn’t matter why.
My post clearly said that what “I don’t care” about is being on “your team”, OK? Go and preach to people who want to hear and obey your “truth from on high”.
Blah blah blah ...
I guess we know different people then.
I guess we’re different.
