You are absolutely correct. The scary thing- there are myriad conservative bloggers who are denouncing Jesse and applauding Obama. O’Reilly, Hannity and Patterico to name a few. It boggles my mind. people are falling for this. A story that should have languished for at least two or three days, went down in a matter of hours- complete with Jesse’s own son denouncing him. This story stinks.

Believe me, I hope the various democrat factions tear themselves apart. But I just can’t fall for the “hot mike” stunt.

I said in another thread that I don’t believe there could be any sort of rift between Obama and a major liberal black activist. But you know this is complicated, because people like Jesse Jackson have their deepest allegiance not to their professed cause but to personal power and wealth.

Perhaps the only thing we can be certain of here is that Jesse Jackson and Barack Obama are both liars.

Disagree. This makes Jackson look like a scumbag. Jackson (who wants to be regarded as “the black leader”) has an ego is far too powerful for him to ever make that kind of sacrifice for anyone. Actually, it is much more in his personal interest to have Obama defeated.

I agree. I think the old guard of Hillary, Jesse and others are spazzing due to Obama's popularity his lack of need for their support, and their subsequent powerlessness.
