"Efforts in both chambers of Congress have Republicans wondering why Democrats seem to fear free speech. Rep. Michael Capuano (D-MA) has proposed limitations on how Representatives can post information to the Internet in a time when we should be demanding more transparency, not less. According to a source in the Senate, Dianne Feinstein has begun her own campaign to force Senators to seek permission before communicating over the Internet."

"In the Senate, the problem gets even worse. Feinstein (D-CA) would have the Rules Committee act as a censor board, forcing members to get approval for the act of communicating on external websites. Further, it would appear that the Feinstein proposal would attempt to exercise editorial control over these sites, at least indirectly." "As my source put it, these are the key issues:....."

Is it easy to associate a screen name on a blog with the real name of the person posting? How would “the censors” know if a congress critter was posting anywhere?

Yes. I think she’s become much more busy now, which is good for us. She seems to be more in the public eye, which again, is good!

How much longer until Big Brother is on a monitor in every town square, business, home, school, etc.?? Free speech will soon be a distant memory.

Just look at the UK for an example. It won't be long before we have the same here. I'm not discounting what happened on 9/11, but it has turned us into a nation of sissies, willing to hand over every right we have to an all-powerful federal government. Meanwhile that same federal government has done nothing to protect our borders.

All Government communications must be reviewed by the Politburo...err Rules Committee...before dissemination to the Great Unwashed...

That is all.

The current Democrat Political Party fears free speech because it is the one thing that keeps them from being able to win elections, over tax the people, and push their socialist agenda.
The truth as they say will set you free and the Democrats need people to not be free so that they can exercise power over them.

Free speech will soon be a distant memory.

It's making inroads with our Canadian FRiends:

-A lawsuit has been served against our Canadian "sister" site, Free Dominion.--

From the same people who like to proclaim the Bush administration is the “most secretive in history” blah blah blah. You know with the libs, if they’re accusing you of it, they’re doing it. That’s why I wonder what Waxman is doing behind the scenes.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Good question,
sites such as FR require identity prior to granting post privileges. Perhaps the Admin Mods maintain a watch ful eye on the posters
