Record-high gasoline and oil prices are a centerpiece of the presidential tilt.
Republican John McCain has some options if he wants to leverage his vice presidential pick on the energy and economy front.
One wildcard name circulating is Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, according to political consultants.

Picking a Democratic patsy, tainted with with his
introduction of the Democratic HillaryCARE plan,
like Romney is a losing proposition.
I know scores of people who voted for Romney, were burnt,
and will never vote for him again.

The Republicans will need someone who can talk with authority and make sense on health care and the economy. Romney can do that. He can discuss what he learned from the Mass. healthcare experience, how it would be different. I did not vote for Romney in the primary, but I was impressed with him.
That’s not the picture that I meant to post of Sarah Palin. I’m quitting for the night on posting pictures, I reserve the right to continue making dumb comments though.
We need her here to fight dims and greenies.

Let’s get serious, here. She just had a baby, and it’s a high intensity care Down’s syndrome baby. We should be ashamed of ourselves for trying to get a mother to leave her newborn children.
She may not be experienced in terms of length in public office, but she's got ethics & good judgment. She can't be bought, she respects the people and the office she represents. That alone makes up for more than any perceived lack of public office experience.
If McCain picks Palin, it would ignite conservatives and finish off Obama. I said it would be a gametime decision for me if McCain picks Romney; however, if McCain picks Palin I will be at that voting booth first thing in the morning voting for McCain/Palin.
She would bring a lot of intangibles to McCain. She also shares McCain's independent & maverick stance, but instead of siding with libs she fought members of her own party.I admit though it'd be a stretch for McCain to choose her. He should choose Romney, and quit after one-term, and Romney should choose Palin or Jindal in 2012.
So she should be a single woman on welfare or a feminist?

She has all the characteristics of Southern women. She's pro-gun, pro-family, pro-life - her rugged personality will win over ALL regions.

Establishment woman??? What are you talking about? She's doing a great job representing people in public office and people respect that. Since when did public office become denigrated? Don't hate the office, hate the person that's in it.

She appears to be a woman who has her wits about her ... unlike a few others making news in recent weeks and months.
She would be an excellent choice to woo dissatisfied Hillery voters.
Two things might hurt her - she's much prettier than McCain and she has the ability to control a situation and not lose her temper. (Truth bu just a little sarcasm on my part.)
McCain could do much worse. I think of all the names mentioned Ms. Palin and Mitt Romney may be the best of the field. They have the best chance of unifying voters behind the GOP candidate nationwide. If McCain runs a real campaign, something he hasn't tried to do yet, both would be assets and the GOP could win.
Personally, the woman just had a baby. Isn’t that a contradiction of converative family values? It’s one thing if a woman has to work part-time as a new mother to keep the family from going under, but a governor? That doesn’t sound conservative to me. I don’t know, the idea that what the Clintons are doing influencing the Republican party does not appeal to me. I don’t care if Hillary decided now was the time for a woman Presidency, I don’t think that should influence John McCain.
A female VP on the Republican ticket after the O picks some old goat. hehehehehe and a very conservative lady at that.
