At one time, Limbaugh did his program from a Midtown Manhattan skyscraper he dubbed, with tongue-in-cheek grandiosity, the Excellence in Broadcasting Building. These days, he mostly broadcasts out of a studio in Palm Beach, Fla., which he calls the Southern Command, and describes on the air as a heavily fortified bunker.
In fact, Limbaughs show emanates from a nondescript office building on a boulevard lined with tall palms. There isnt even a security guard in the lobby. The elevator opens directly onto a pristine anteroom furnished in corporate glass and leather. An American flag stands in the corner. Only a small, framed picture of Limbaugh, bearing the caption Americas Anchorman, reveals that this is the headquarters of one of the countrys most admired and reviled figures.
The anteroom was empty when I stepped off the elevator one afternoon in mid-February. Limbaugh receives very few visitors at work, and no journalists from the hated mainstream media. When I was buzzed into the control room, I was met by Bo Snerdly a very large man in a Huey Newton beret who glared at me. Are you the guy whos here to do the hit job on us? he demanded in a deep voice.
Absolutely, I said.
Snerdly, whose real name is James Golden, held my eyes for a long moment before bursting into emphatic laughter.
Its just that we arent used to seeing reporters here, said a woman named Dawn. She is a stenographer whom Limbaugh hired in 2001, after he went deaf. These days he has a cochlear implant that enables him to hear callers, but Dawn sends him real-time transcripts of on-air conversations, just in case.
The media doesnt know about this place, she said. They dont know where we are.

Far be it from me to discourage you or anyone else.
I’m personally too old to get into the media and I have no skills that would serve me in the teaching profession.
But anyone else who is young enough and sufficiently educated to make a difference should by all means infiltrate and try to subvert as much of the indoctrination as they can.
If Rush or someone of his stature were willing to take the lead, I’m sure many would follow. I would be more than willing to do what I am able to see a future where my nieces and nephews have a chance to live free.
At one time I read that the only gun Rush owned was a custom muzzleloading rifle given to him when he spoke at an NRA Convention. I don’t know if that’s still the case.
El Rushbo has a guest house for each guest, four. And a car, or two, for each.

At last count, about 2500 have viewed this thread, most probably went to NYT.com. That means FR added to their puny or negative bottom line.

Obviously you aren’t clairvoyant.
I’m not thinking any such thing.
Nah, it’s a Yahoo chart. Although they also have a puny bottom line.
I just realized I misunderstood your post. I guess I am brain-addled late at night.
I just took another look at the cover photo of Rush. I guess most people are drawn to the big cigar. But I can’t help noticing he’s got a great manicure. Masculine and clean. No polish.
Some people turn on the TV when they get home; some take a shower, etc.
I don’t think Rush thinks much of women at all.
lol!
He seems to be regularly pictured with lovely young ladies on his arm.
AND he has tried marriage more than once.
He likes ‘em...he just likes ‘em young. (Men are visual. It’s not their fault.)
Using them and liking them are two different things.
Isn’t Rush ineligible due to his drug convictions? I kind of lost track of that story, but I assume he plead guilty to something after he admitted he was a junkie scamming for pills. I believe the current rule is that it you have been convicted of a crime that carries a sentence of more than one year, even if it is a misdemeanor, you are forbidden by law from owning guns.
Wow, I never knew Rush was deaf.
I feel for the guy. I have a 35% loss in the right ear.
Let’s hope he’d contact us if he decides to go big.
Forget CC, I hope he has a Class III.
