Police believe they have found the remains of Brooke Bennett, 12, of Braintree. Police say the remains were found on property on Crocker Road in Randolph near the home of Michael Jacques. Police found ground there that had been recently disturbed yesterday. Today, a search found the body there. Police say Brooke's body was recovered at 4:45 p.m.
An autopsy will be performed in Burlington to confirm it is Brooke and to try to find the cause of death. Police do call the death suspicious.
Brooke's family was notified of the discovery.
Brooke disappeared a week ago. She was last seen at a Randolph convenience store with her uncle, Michael Jacques. Police had previously called Jacques a person of interest in her disappearance and they had been searching his property in Randolph.
Late this afternoon, federal authorities also announced they will charge Jacques with kidnapping Brooke. The affidavit will not be released until the charges are filed in court Thursday morning.
Police plan to hold a press conference at 10 a.m. Thursday to update the case.
I read your link. It’s hard to believe something like this could happen and go unnoticed. How many people were involved in this Breckenridge program? This may get big. It kind of reminds me of something similar that happened in Holland,I think, a few years back. It was a child sex ring involving hundreds including very high officials. I never did get the whole story on that one.
Drawn & quartered.
That sex offender program really did a lot of good
Dear God.
Probably not. One of the most liberal states in the former Union.
And our USSC thinks that the death penalty is not a fitting punishment for the rape of a child.
We see now that nothing short of death will keep these animals from raping again.
The last execution in Vermont was in 1954 and the death penalty was abolished in 1964.
Why? The guy who lured her was Brooke's own uncle and I'm sure the family knew of his background! The other girl involved was also a family member.
The more relevant question in my mind is why the parents of Brooke or the other girl would allow either of them any contact whatsoever with this convicted sex offender Uncle?
Yes, with very light sentencing for the perverts.
The men folk of the village went from house to house. When they finally found the culprit, they handed him over to the child's father and brothers.
The reverend final words to the father and brothers was, "Do not pollute the earth with his body, when you are done."
Not likely. The whole family had to know that the creep was a sex offender.
Great. I guess the worst this slimeball is going to get is a date with bubba at the State pen.
Maybe he will get the Dahmer death sentence.
My condolences to the family. What a waste of life...
We can only hope!
That’s “Cretins.” Cretins are not necessarily Greek. Cretans are.
Good lord. Read the affidavits and it is sickening. Sad sad sad commentary and proof positive on the inability for the sexual offenders to ever be rehabilitated. One of my good friends is a state trooper that took on the responsibility of overseeing sexual offenders on the list. He is disheartened by the horror stories he sees all the time.
This may go to trail around hunting season. Being Vermont, the two scum bags will get bail. The notice of their release, complete with a discription of the black fur jackets and hats that they will be wearing, will be read at a “hunters breakfast” a short distance from the field into which they are to be released. BANG! OOPS!
Belgium. The worst thing is that in Belgium it was accepted as some sort of normal activity for government people.
Any chances that the Feds can charge the uncle with a FED sex and death crime?
We need a amendment to over turn that decision
