I think this was on ‘60 minutes’ a while back. Logical thinking.

Necessity is the mother of Invention This man’s cancer was the necessity that propelled the invention. I hope that he gets cured by his invention.

Aw jeez not this guy again. Last time I heard he was converting his ‘EM rays’ machine to burn water (ie, new energy source). He’s got not a single piece of actually scientific evidence of ANY of his stuff doing anything.

But before anyone gets too excited, Kanzius offers this caveat: If the research leads to treatment in humans, it wont necessarily mean cancer is cured. Kanzius says that many types of cancer, after being destroyed, can regenerate. Which may mean that some patients will have to get retreated at regular intervals. Big damn deal. Crap with performance like this (and the idea is freaking BRILLIANT) people could just take a pill that sends metals to cancerous (and eventually pre-cancerous) cells and lay in something like a tanning booth.
This could become something like a longevity potion as repeated treatments eliminate unwanted cells.

Here’s an interesting side application. Nanoparticles suspended with a tag to go after fat cells.
Or an injection into fatty tissue to destroy those particular cells.

IMHO I think that’s pushing the envelope of this technique too far. The size of the tumors its designed to go after are on a totally different scale than fat tissue, particularly if you have a lot of fat tissue. The heat generated to damage that much tissue would probably spread too far into surrounding tissue. Perhaps if it were done in gradual stages it might be useful though, but you’re probably looking at a very large number of individual treatments.

Using microwaves to treat tumors by heating is nothing new nor is causing a tumor to selectively concentrate drugs, etc. He's offered a new twist on the idea. The basic idea has been proven.
Forget the burning water.

Targeted delivery of (in this case, nano metal particles) is the actual KEY to any of this. There's about a million researchers trying to figure that out, and, if they could, they could attach far more effective means of destroying the cancer cells than sticking a person into a glorified microwave owen. Where does this actually explain in any sort of peer reviewed paper how do they deliver the "nanometal particles" to the cancerous cells ?

See my #19. There’s nothing “brilliant” about this idea at all. People have been trying to figure out how to attach some sort of a marker for some sort of a killing means to cancer cells for years. Where is a peer reviewed study that describes how he delivers the metal particles to the cancer cells ? Without that, it’s just another kook looking into using a glorified microwave owen to cook people.
