Bush Administration Links Extreme Weather to Global Warming (BARF Alert)
The Daily Green ^ | June 19, 2008 | Dan Shapely

Droughts, heavy rain, heat waves, wildfires and intense hurricanes are more likely to affect North America because of global warming's effect on extreme weather, the Bush Administration's Climate Change Science Program said Thursday.

There's high confidence that the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events has already been influenced by global warming, and even greater confidence that more expensive, damaging and deadly weather is to come as temperatures continue to rise. The risk is tied directly to human emissions of heat-trapping greenhouse gas emissions like carbon dioxide from burning fossil fuels.

The findings are familiar, but the report is the most specific and comprehensive to address how climate change affects weather in North America, and it may be the Bush Administration's most clear acknowledgments of the dangers of climate change to date. The report's release coincides with President Bush's visit to the flood-ravaged Mississippi Valley, where thousands of lives have been upended, enough crops have been ruined to drive up world food prices, and the cost to repair damage will run into the billions.

Yes we have had global warming and we will have global cooling but it is not man made. Take a look.

This is not Bush spouting this nonsense, it’s a dopey commission within the Executive Branch.

The article stated:

the Bush Administration's Climate Change Science Program said Thursday

Either the article is lying, and this has nothing to do with this administration, or Bush is allowing this information to be disseminated and left standing.

Which is it?

If Bush did not agree, those in his administration program should either be fired, or Bush should denounce the findings. I have not heard him denounce the report.

Better make that *Audacity of Neoliberalism* If the Libs can use MMGW/CC as a weapon, so can the RINOs.

” The stated goals of the SPP are cooperation and information sharing, improving productivity, reducing the costs of trade, ENHANCING THE JOINT STEWERDSHIP OF THE ENVIRONMENT, facilitating agricultural trade while creating a safer and more reliable food supply, and protecting people from disease.”

Droughts, floods, hot weather, cold weather, sea level rise, sea level fall, blizzards, downpours, crop loss, crop bounty.

These are all caused by whether or not gaia is happy.

If you do something bad, gaia is not happy and bad weather happens. Poor crops, hungry people, island nations underwater. But, if you do the right things, gaia will be happy and gentle rain will fall on the fields and there will be plenty.

In addition to behaving properly (and we'll tell you what that is), gaia likes a certain sacrifice, in the form of a transfer of money to carbon credit or carbon offset accounts. Keep this going and the weather will be good and a gentle rain etc.

That’s why the global warming nuts are changing their mantra to “climate change”.

Warming is climate and human-caused, cooling is weather and natural. Simple.

Sadly, there are many simpletons who will believe just such an “intellectual” construct....

There are three types of greenhouse gases: 1) water vapor; 2) CO2; and 3) methane. Carbon dioxide is the one most important to global warming advocates, yet carbon dioxide makes up only 380 parts per million of the atmosphere. It used to be 320 ppm 50 years ago. Horrors! It is presumed that most of this increase is due to industrial activity; i.e., “man-made”. But no one really knows that. Also, no one knows exactly how changes in the sun’s activity create warming and cooling cycles here on earth, but changes are believed to occur about every 1,500 years.

Also, since about 1900 the average temp on earth has increased by 1 degree, but about 40% of that happened prior to 1940, long before the current levels of industrial activity.

Two books to read: “Climate Confusion” by Roy W. Spencer, and “Unstoppable Global Warming - Every 1,500 Years” by Fred Singer & Dennis Avery.

Because “global warming” has become a religious belief, the public has been totally misled, and politicians are afraid to say man-made global warming is of little consequence compared to natural climate changes on earth. It’s up to sane voters to replace the politicians who continue to spread ignorance and fear.
