McCain Proposes La Raza Town Hall
TOWNHALL ^ | Monday, June 16, 2008 | Amanda Carpenter

GOP presidential candidate John McCain is inviting his Democratic rival, Barack Obama, to participate in a joint town hall at an open-borders advocacy group’s upcoming meeting in California.

“There is a meeting in California of La Raza,” McCain told reporters at an Arlington press conference Monday. “Both of us have accepted invitations. I say that we have a town hall meeting together in front of La Raza. I think that the people will be far more informed and in some ways, entertained if we had that format.”

Okay. I’ve gone back and read the article. I guess the thinking here is that he shouldn’t go before these people PERIOD! I think that’s wrong. He need to face these people directly and give the Latino vote Obama.

I think those of you here who are bashing McCain are so one dimensional and delusional. He’s our candidate. We should support him, because not to do so, gives this country to the looney left. Obama is a first class conman. If he is elected President this country will not recover from it for 100 years if ever. He is ten times worse than Carter was.

what’s wrong with this?

What's wrong with this is how many "carbon credits" it would cost under McCains plans.

He's not only a liberal, he's a liberal hypocrite.

McCain isn’t the brightest bulb on the planet.

It’s just that Obomba is worse.

Adopting a policy making it easier for terrorists to enter the country and destroy us from within our own borders is a disaster waiting to happen regardless of which socialist you support.

John McCain is a truly self-defeating individual.

The only good reason to vote for him is Barack Hussein Obama.

Unfortuantely, that will not be enough for too many conservatives.

These antics on his part will NEVER get him ONE Hispanic vote. But they WILL loose him a lot of Anglo conservative votes - ones he can’t afford to miss.

Isn't LaRaza more or less an organization of traitors. Isn't consorting with traitors treason?

Tell me again why I should vote for this puke?

Interested? Or horrified?

I knew McIdiot was going to this La Raza conference. I had also already known he was a Shamnesty advocate and doesn't want a real border fence built.

just more stones in that rather high hall this idiot is building between him and my vote.

“I will call for lifting the federal moratorium for states that choose to permit exploration,” he said. “I think that this, and perhaps providing additional incentives for states to permit exploration off of their coasts, would be very helpful in the short term in resolving our energy crisis.” What’s wrong wit this position?

Notice he only references federal moratoria. The states can still stop it under the weight of the nut-job greenies.

I’m curious to see how he does. If La Raza boos him, then I think that will strengthen him among conservative and independent voters.

McCain is already scheduled to speak before La Raza as is Obama. I guess they will try to outpander one another. This one event will turn off most of the Rep base.

Correction: He's the candidate of the globablist neocon multi-national MSM.

And so's the other guy.

"What’s wrong wit this position?"

He voted against drilling in Alaska only last week. Either he's bi-polar or he's pandering @ss.

I suppose allowing some states to explore but forbidding other states WITH PROVEN RESERVES to drill is a genius position?

Flatout the man is an idiot and I'm not supporting him.

La Raza are a bunch of nuts who want us to give Mexico back part of the United States for Gods sake. Does this idiot know that?

LOL. Of course he does. La Raza gave him an award in 1999: "It is a great pleasure and honor for NCLR to recognize Senator John McCain, a longtime friend of the Hispanic community. Throughout his tenure in both the House and Senate, John McCain has been a strong voice for compassion, fairness, and inclusion in his party," noted Raul Yzaguirre, NCLR President.
