A coffee shop in Washington is offering a cup of coffee for $15. Thats right, $15.
The cup of coffee is brewed from the rare Panama Ezmarelda coffee bean. Its called the best bean in the world. A roaster in Vancouver paid big bucks to buy 50 pounds of the bean. The coffee shop paid $100 for a half-pound bag that makes only 8 cups of the coffee.
Gail Rothrock joined the $15 coffee club. She says the coffee has a tropical fruit type flavor coming out of it.

I suspect Gail has a “tropical fruit like flavor” coming from between her ears.

Still not as expensive as Kopi Luwak - the Indonesian coffee that is harvested after the beans have been “processed” by a civet. That goes for $120 - $600 a pound.

I am glad I am not a liberal elitist falling for sucker scams like this left and right :D
I always have believed every available item on the market has a certain price that, above which, the item will yield diminishing returns.
For coffee I would say that price is 5 bucks for a cup.

They are only making 20% on a cup, if you assume 10% overhead, they are making 9% profit, THAT’S OBSCENE!!!!! ;)

Yes, but is it
"fair trade" coffee?
(I purposely don't buy it if it's fair trade. Out of principle.)

Pure Kona bean is the best.
Freshly ground cold beans, fresh cold spring water, stainless steel percolator, ceramic mug, real cream, and Hawaiian turbinado cane sugar.
That's a cup of coffee!

Confiscatory coffe prices.
I wonder what Gail's husband thinks, and if the dumb bitch paid cash or financed it with "her" credit card.

No thanks. I will stick to my whole bean Eight OClock Coffee ground fresh each morning at home. Freshly ground Peet's brewed in a french press for me. I like it better than anything I could get at a coffee shop.

A coffee shop in Washington is offering a cup of coffee for $15. Thats right, $15.I dunno. I once paid $20 for a single glass of 25 y/o Macallan scotch. This was about 15 years ago and I was curious what a $20 drink tasted like.
Sadly, $20 drinks aren't nearly as uncommon these days.

"The coffee shop paid $100 for a half-pound bag that makes only 8 cups of the coffee."That doesn't compute. Even if it was already roasted, a half pound of beans will make more than a measly 8 cups. If it was un-roasted, it would make even more.
