I agree. The time to convict and deport him was back when he initially came here. Since the government missed that opportunity, and this man has become integrated fully into our society, might as well let him stay.

As to Germany, this guy doesn't ring an immediate bell, but in general they're deported to any nation pressing criminal charges, rare, otherwise to wherever they came from, which is usually unclear.

If he is 83 now, he would have been 20 when the war ended. While I have no time for the atrocities that happened in Germany before and during WWII, I have a hard trouble accepting him as a “war criminal” based on his age.
