His mother simply being a US citizen may not have been enough either.

The law at the time he was born may have stipulated that the mother needed to be at least 16, with 10 years residing in the US, and at least five of those having been immediately before the child's birth in order for the child to be considered "natural-born".

Obama's mother was 18 when she had him, and had been living in Kenya. Therefore, he may not have qualified because of her whereabouts in the five years before his birth.

A technicality for sure...but may be a part of the law. And that is a law the founders put in place to protect America from exactly (IMHO) this kind of candidate.

That's because Barack Hussein Obama is the apex of the hate-America, domestic enemy in this country. His election as president would be the greatest coup any enemy has ever scored against this country and could easily lead to the worst, horrific disaster in our nation's history.

THE AUDACITY OF TRUTH ABOUT BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA

You know that is an interesting question. And I called my Secretary of State, in 2004 to ask how they verified that candidates for President met the legal requirements and the answer was: they do not. I found this troubling. At the time I was contemplating whether J.F. Kerry was eligible for president.

There is also the 14 year residency requirement. Not sure if Barry meets that one either. Probably.

I think the issue is more about his birth name as opposed to his name now. Speculation has it that his birth name was much different, anything legitimate to distract his and his campaign’s attention get’s my full support. Remember when it became public that Gary Hart had earlier changed his name from Gary Hartpence? It wasn’t a disqualifier, but it certainly knocked Hart off his feet and stunned him. I hope the same happens to the messiah.

For some reason I find the idea very amusing that his name being Barry Dunham would be more damaging to him in a post 9/11 world than if it were Barack Hussein Mohammed Obama.

See post 20. The issue is really whether is mother and her wherabouts for the five years before his birth, met the criteria for natural-born at the time. From what I can read and tell...it does not.

“Was he born on US soil? If not, from what I understand, he cannot run legally.”

Then McCain can’t be president, either. (He was born in Panama to two American parents.)

“Naturalized” citizens cannot be president. A child of an American is a natural American.

It does not matter where he was born as long as his mother and/or father met the criteria to consider him natural born. The father was not a US citizen so does not figure in...the mother was, but her whereabouts before his birth may have disqualified him for the designation of natural born.

See post 20 on this thread. That info is thanks to Freeper FARS.

Assuming the information on findlaw is correct it is more complicated than I made out in my previous post, because only one of his parents was a citizen. It's amazing to me that we've had these detailed laws about citizenship for foreign born children of Americans (that exclude many from citizenship) but that libs argue that there is no basis from denying citizenship to anchor babies. Anyway, here is the relevant summary of the law from Findlaw: 4. December 24, 1952 to November 13, 1986 If, at the time of your birth, both your parents were U.S. citizens and at least one had a prior residence in the United States, you automatically acquired U.S. citizenship with no conditions for retaining it.

If only one parent was a U.S. citizen at the time of your birth, that parent must have resided in the United States for at least ten years, at least five of which had to be after the age of 16. There are no conditions placed on retaining this type of citizenship. If your one U.S. citizen parent is your father and you were born outside of marriage, the same rules apply if your father legally legitimated you before your 21st birthday and you were unmarried at the time. If legitimation occurred after November 14, 1986, your father must have established paternity prior to your 18th birthday, either by acknowledgment or by court order, and must have stated in writing that he would support you financially until your 18th birthday. Because Barry's mom was only 18 if she had Barry somewhere outside the USA then (if this description is correct) he is not a citizen. (There is no question his father was not a citizen, and there is no way a 18 year old could have lived 5 years in America after age 16).

But his standard bio has always said he was born in Hawaii.

He wasn’t born in Panama. He was born on a U.S. Naval Air Station in Panama. There’s a difference there, don’t you see?

Obama’s own Words

This person wants to be our President and control our government.
Pay close attention to the last comment!!
Below are a few lines from Obama’s books ‘ his words:

>From Dreams of My Father: ‘I ceased to advertise my mother’s race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.’

>From Dreams of My Father : ‘I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mothers race.’

From Dreams of My Father: ‘There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. and white.’

From Dreams of My Father: ; ‘It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names.’

From Dreams of My Father: ‘I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn’t speak to my own. It was into my father’s image, the black man, son of Africa , that I’d packed all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela.’

From Audacity of Hope: ‘I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.’

What matters if both of his parents were citizens...which they were in McCain's case, so he is considered, by law, a natural born American.

Obama's mother was the only US citizen so, according to law, that designation requires more criteria to be met. See post 20.

I do not believe his mother met those criteria, and therefore, if true, Obama would not be considered, technically, natural-born.

Another possibility is that his mother checked “white” for his ethnicity or something like that.

Given that his father was only 12% black and 88% Arab and his mother was 100% white with a racial mix of 50% white 44% Arab and 6% black Obama would be white.

The other possibility is that the Hawaii Birth certificate might list the place of birth as Nairobi Kenya.

Were you married to an American citizen at the time? If so there is no question that both your kids are “natural born Americans” and have equal status (to each other) under the law. Both can run for POTUS and pass on citizenship.

“A better question might be “When did FR become the DU?””

Hey. At least this thread, isn’t bashing John McCain.

It’s a start...

Curious though, Hussein hiding his birth certificate.
