I thought McCain was born on a U.S. Miltary base in Panama, which would be American soil

Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think military bases are considered American soil. They aren't like embassies. McCain, however, was born in the Canal Zone, which was (alas no longer is) American soil.

You are welcome.

As I found out (and this came from a post by FARS on another thread and was taken from: THIS SITE, it is not about whether he was born in Hawaii or not...it is about whether his birht and the age of his mother and her whereabouts for the prior five years qualifies him for the definition on natural-born.

It is a very interesting question and set of circumstances.

It is also one that will be reacted to very emotionally, very negatively, and perhaps even violently, by his ardents idolaters.

His birth aside (which should be looked into), Barack Hussein Obama is the apex of the hate-America, domestic enemy in this country. His election as president would be the greatest coup any enemy has ever scored against this country and could easily lead to the worst, horrific disaster in our nation's history.

THE AUDACITY OF TRUTH ABOUT BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA

Is religion actually on a birth certificate?

That’s what he sez his birthname is...but what if the birthname is really Barry Dunham? When did he legally then ‘become’ BHMO? I’m just asking...

Was he born on US soil? If not, from what I understand, he cannot run legally. That's absurd. Citizenship at birth does not require birth on American soil! Only that one or both parents is an American. Birth on American soild can *get* you American citizenship if neither parent is a citizen (in the opinion of our courts, currently).

McCain was born in the Panama Canal Zone, not the USA, per se. Is he, in your opinion, not eligible to run for POTUS?

I doubt it has anything to do with citizenship. I suspect it is that his name at birth was “Barry,” or perhaps his father was listed as “unknown.” Another possibility is that his mother checked “white” for his ethnicity or something like that.

Both of Mr. McCain’s parents were American citizens and the U.S. Naval Air Station in Panama is United States soil. Seems clear to me that Mr. McCain is a natural born citizen.

Why would that be an embarrassment to him? What person has any control over their birth?

Our side is wasting a lot of time and energy on stupid stuff like this or second degree guilt by association. Obama is a socialist and a defeatist and that those are the issues we should go after him. Bringing whether he is a US citizen or attacking him based on a second degree association is a big loser and it will have the opposite intended effect i.e. people will get more sympathetic to Obama.

Is he, in your opinion, not eligible to run for POTUS?

It is not my opinion, it is my understanding of the law. I have two children, one born in the USA, and one born outside. From what I understand, my son born outside the USA cannot run for President, nor can he pass US Citizenship on to his children if they too are born outside the USA.

I posted this as a question; not as an authoritative comment or opinion.

I believe that sons and daughters of active overseas US military personnel are treated differently in this respect, as well as overseas US territories such as Saipan.

Do you know the answer? I do not. My information may be erroneous.

If this is true, then Hillary will be back. No one, but the DU perhaps, wants that.

Are you kidding? They hate the Hildebeast almost as much as we do... maybe even more! DU has been in Obamessiah Mode for almost a year.

What makes you think that any info you get on an anonymous forum, would not also be erroneous?

I think the issue is what was his give name, not so much where he was born. Remember the embarassment Gary Hart suffered when it was confirmed he had earlier changed his last name from Hartpence to Hart? This could be highly distracting to the messiah, so I say let’s push it.

I think your explanation of the refusal to release the birth certificate is the most plausible. If he was born Barry Dunham...his mom could have checked the 'caucasian' race box. A politician not being what he pretends to be...who'd a thunk that?

Or is that inaccurate?

The document which granted statehood to Hawaii probably granted citizenship to persons born there after a certain date. If BHO wont release his BC perhaps he wasn’t born there?

Were his parents legally married? (Wasn't his father already married to someone outside of the US and never received a divorce?) Just wondering if being born an “illegitimate” in the 1950’s may have had more legal repercussions as to citizenship, etc. than they do now.
