So what’s going to happen when some Canadian Muslim Iman denounces gays — and then sues the Canadian Human Rights commission for engaging in a hate crime when it denounces him?

This is becoming too weird for human comprehension!

Try and call the so-called conservative talk shows about stuff like this. They don’t want to hear it.

He should neither apologize nor pay the fine. If the government wants to lock him up for his views, that's definitely to be preferred. To submit is to allow one's soul to be raped by the state. Let them rape the body instead.

The Left is never going to persecute Muslims. Although I can see the day when this entire totalitarian apparatus is turned against them. Then it will really be too late to redeem civilization.

*Canada has strayed far from the common law if they allow damages of this sort.*

And in straying from common law, Canada has strayed from common sense.

I agree, but it just goes to show how bizarre the leftist ability to ‘doublethink’ anything is.

Christianity is always bad, Muslims are always persecuted, even though it’s the Muslims who have the habit of stringing gays up from cranes, pushing down walls on them, shooting women in the head for adultery - mostly UNPROVEN adultery...

and then of course there are the “honor killings”...

The opening line of the story is a lie so the credibility of the rest of the article is questionable. It wasn’t the “Canadian Government” that made the order, it was the Alberta Human Rights Tribunal, an agency of the Province of Alberta. The pastor can appeal the ruling to a REAL court and has a good chance of winning.

The most glaring inaccuracy in the article was the first sentence. The “Canadian Government” had no involvement in the case.

The most glaring inaccuracy in the article was the first sentence. The “Canadian Government” had no involvement in the case.

"The Alberta Human Rights and Citizenship Commission was established by the HRCM Act to carry out functions under the Act. The Commission is an independent Commission of the Government of Alberta reporting through the Minister of Culture and Community Spirit, who has responsibility for human rights issues."

if you have a question about an article whether it be worldnetdaily.com, the LAT, NYT or whatever;
I suggest you do as I do and research the information. An if you had bothered to research the piece as I have told others;
you would find that the article is accurate.

Good day.

Exactly. This was the government of one province, NOT the Government of Canada.

Attributing the acts of this commission as acts of the "Canadian government" is akin to attributing the decisions of the US 9th Circuit as acts of the US government except that the 9th circuit has more power to legislate in the guise of exercising judicial power and the 9th circuit is a federal court.

The tribunal is a regulatory tribunal and as such has judicial independence of government.

The tribunal is a provincial body, not a federal one.

The tribunal is not a court of inherent jurisdiction and as such stare it cannot rule on constitutional construction.

The tribunal's rulings cannot bind other courts.

The minority Canadian government is taking steps to commence a parliamentary enquiry into the conduct of the federal equivalent of this provincial tribunal.

The decisions of this tribunal, like all regulatory tribunals, are subject to court supervision by recourse to the prerogative writs such as certiorari or quo warranto.

Bear in mind that the federal government has no jurisdiction over the enabling legislation respecting provincial regulatory tribunals.

Bear in mind that the current Tory government is a minority government and the opposition consists of parties based on varying degrees of liberalism.

It remains to be seen as to whether a Supreme Court of Canada dominated by Liberal appointees will eventually clip the wings of these high flying "human rights" tribunals.

That said, These tribunals (federal and provincial) have managed to make "human rights" an instrument of oppression and an implement of war in the hands of jihadist complainants.

Okay, so if California enacted a stupid law then it would be accurate to claim that the law was passed by the US Government?

You have proven that there is no cure for willful illiteracy.

Alberta is part of the confederation of Canada. Its government is not the Government of Canada. Its governtment is sovereign intra vires, including the right to create tribunals such as this one.

For instance, the article provides no support for the claim that the pastor was ordered to "renounce his faith." Yes, he was ordered to stop preaching against homosexuality, but this really is not the same thing.

So you personally now claim to be the arbiter of what faith entails Arguendo? That will have to be the case for you to make the quoted statement true. Otherwise ceasing to preach against the things scripture condemns may indeed be renouncing his faith and the order itself is indeed proof.

The only way for you, Arguendo, to try to make that Not be proof in and of itself, is for you to gain the power to redefine the pastors faith.
